How to disable 360 controller without unplugging it

I noticed there are a few topics requesting how to do this so i thought i would create a new topic showing how.

Download the zip file and extract all the files into your Zombi installed folder.

the game should now run with the keyboard prompts.

Maybe this coould be pinned to help other players?

didnt work. do i just extract the five files into the steamapps/common/zombi folder?

I have the game on uplay, and putting the files in the zombi folder worked for me, not sure why its not working with the steam version :(

wow, have not been this pissed off at steam or ubisoft in quite a long time.
the game is more or less broken as it keeps telling me to do ♥♥♥♥ thats not documented in the controlls config menu, and when I uninstall it from steam and try to install it from ubisoft, it doenloads it from steam.

There hasn't been a controller plugged into the computer in I want to say 7 months

After testing several scenareos in both Steam and Uplay versions of the game, this workaround fixes the issue every time:

1. You need to have an active controller/gamepad. Make sure is turned on before launching the game.
   
2. Run the game, gamepad prompt appears, use the gamepad.
   
3. Turn off the gamepad (disconnect USB or take out the batteries).
   
4. Press any keyboard keys and the keyboard prompt will appear.

(Must repeat the procedure every time the game is launched)

LOL, ok just tried this, got quite a bit more pissed but then just laughed, my god how incompetent are they?

so I got my xbox controller out, plugged it in, hoping this would work, started the game up, and nothing would work.
using mouse and keyboard to exit it I tried again because this kind of error happens every now and then, so I try run 2... nothing
ok, let's unplug every single thing that's not necessary for the computer to function.

still doesnt work...

Ok, is my controller broken, 5 games tested later, no it works just fine...

so the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game is giving me controller prompts, refuses to give me keyboard and mouse ones, can't be modified to never show pad controls, and when I relent and plug a pad in it wont even work... good job ubisoft, 10/10 best port ever.

Did you try my workaround? It works every time. Make sure the controller is turned on before you launch the game. When It promp for the "A" button press it to get to the menu and then take out the battery or unplug it. Press any key and the keyboard/mouse prompt must appears.

Note: If you have the files from Lord Flashheart (http://jotti.org/nox360.zip) it wont work 'cause those files disables the controller. Erase them.

Lol, thanks for reminding me about those files, I just left them there, once removed that method works.

Thanks for helping make this game playable without massive ammounts of trial and error figureing out what undocumented thing is what.
