Ok, ok, anyway, I am not SURE, but I think this isn't an older version of the same character we played in MoUS, but rather one of his descendants. This game seems to be set centuries down the line, in the rebuilt Arcadian Kindgom. I think that will be super cool, I love the engineering side of Arcadians and their magical technology.
I know I might sound obessive over an indie game, but by god I love Oceanhorn and its lore so much for some reason. It's like Legend of Zelda, but for some reason (even though Zelda will always be my favorite series) I just really like the story of the Arcadian empire. What I am looking to forward the most in Oceanhorn 2, story wise, is finding out the secrets of the Island of Whispers. Faroah's name reappears on the map in Oceanhorn 2 (http://marchonking.deviantart.com/art/Decrypted-Oceanhorn-Map-Read-Description-for-Info-655631514) so I am hoping we finally learn who the Wicked Child was. I think it was Mesmeroth, but it could also be the Chancellor.
Gosh I feel so embarrased, I think I need to go wash off the feeling of intense dorkiness now!
Honestly, my only complaint with Oceanhorn, was the lack of polish. Too many issues that could have been fixed with just a little bit of extra time and effort going into making everything work well. The sudden romance segment without rhyme or reason, getting stuck in pits because the devs didn't think I could get there, losing item drops because they landed on top of the "wall" of an inside area... none of them are big, but it ended up leaving me frustrated more often than not.
So, if the sequel is a bit more polished, or at least a reasonable enough price, it could still be worth the purchase. Who knows, maybe now that the devs have a bit more experience working on this kind of game, they'll fix up the major issues! I'd love to see what an Oceanhorn game could be like with just a bit more care put into the smaller details. =)
There were only minor bugs and issues, nothing that kept me away from this gem. I hope the developers fulfill the expectations I have.
Oceanhorn 2 is definitly on my list, as its precedessor was one of the biggest positive surprises in indie games I encountered.
Aw man, I would love it if Oceanhorn became a hit indie series!
