Arma 2

Arma 2 crashing my windows
Yesterday I bought Arma 2:Combined operations and it got to download over the night.
For some reason Steam choosed to download Operation Arrowhead first which also means it got done before Arma 2. I was not sure if Operation arrowhead would work without Arma 2, needless to say I was very bored of waiting, so I tried play it but while being in the option-section of the main menu my Windows 7 died. My computer was still on but with a black screen and did´nt react to either Ctrl+Alt+Delete or Alt+F4, I could not even turn it off with the power button I had to either press the reset button or the power switch on the back of the computer.
I wondered why this happend and tried Operation Arrowhead again same ♥♥♥♥ happens

So I choosed to let Arma 2 get done, I wake up this morning tries to play it, I get cirka one minute into the boot camp stage and Windows crashes.

My dad said that maybe it was some files in the beta which followed (because for some reason Steam gives you betas of finished games sometimes) but I downloaded it and tried it same thing as with Arma 2 happens. It was a beta of Operation Arrowhead and not the original Arma 2 so I was´nt suprised really.

Anyway I will try to reinstall Arma 2 but if you know anything feel free to give suggestions and I have already checked the minimum hardware specs and it should work.

I might post this on Reddit/r/gaming too

Hey, Careta, I've also bought the ArmA 2: Combined Operations and I have the same problems, ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead is a Standalone DLC so yes, it can be played without ArmA 2. Even though my computer has Windows 8, my computer crashes sometimes to the point where F4+Alt and Ctrl+Alt+Delete and is only able to be shut off by pressing in the power button. Try Right clicking your Arma 2 or Arma 2 OA and go to Properties. Then go to Local Files and click on the Verify Integrity of Game Cache button. If you're computer says that a file/multiple files failed to validate its most likely corrupted. I am still working as it is on my computer but hopefully I can play Arma 2 as it is meant to play and hopefully you can too. My computer blasts the minimal specs away since I have a HP Phoenix but still has problems. Its most likely a corrupted file as I would think. My Operation Arrowhead however just goes to the main menu and 1-10 seconds later it will crash and it will disable me from doing mostly everything. I'm surprised however that nobody has replied to you and I hope that one day that I can get my money's worth. (Best of luck.) Also try to check out Steam's Support page. It might help a lot.
