HELP: WHICH ARMA 2 TO BUY

Hello everyone :)

I am wondering, which is the best ARMA 2 Game to buy? I've seen a list of Arma 2 games on the store and I'm confused, can i please get some tips on which game i should buy.

Oh and I wanna be able to play DAYZ

You have to have both arma 2 and operation arrowhead to play dayZ, so i would buy the package Combined Operations for 30 dollars

Yes indeed ^^ as stated above you need both, i just recently started my downloads for both and will hopefully be playing ARMA and the DAYZ mod. Feel free to add me if you ever want/need someone to team up with i hear it can be brutal on your own

Combined Operations is what you want for DayZ. However, for high resolution player textures in DayZ you will also need the Private Military Company DLC. Alternatively, I believe DayZ works if you just buy Operation Arrowhead and combine it with the free to play version of ARMA II to get Combined Operations lite. This is the cheapest route but all the original ARMA II textures are going to be low resolution using this method.

I recommend you try ARMA II: Free or the Operation Arrowhead Demo if you want a no cost taste of the game. No one here is going to simply gift you the full version.

The Free to Play version of ARMA II includes:


Full original ARMA II multiplayer (with no Operation Arrowhead content)
Map Editor
Armory Mode
One Single Player Mission

The free version has some limitations: If you want the full campaign, HD graphics and support for user-made addons and mods you must buy the full version. In addition because the F2P version has no Operation Arrowhead content you can't play on Combined Operations based servers. Therefore without purchasing the expand-alone Operation Arrowhead you can not use the F2P version of ARMA II to install/play DayZ.

This is quite a bit of content for free and is available on steam or through Bohemia Interactive's ARMA II site.

I just bought ARMA II Operation Arrow head and now tried to install Dayz by using the free to play version of ARMA II but when i try to launch the mod i just get the error massage:

Addon dayz_anim requires addon CA_Dubbing_Counterattack

then the game starts and the next error occurs:

no entry bin/config.bin/Cfgvehicles/citizen1.scope

and there is a server list with a lot of question marks but i cant log on any of these can anybody help me 2 get my game working?

try using DayZ commander or six updater to update correctly
