Okay when you hover the cursor in the correct place, for example the car door, there will be an icon that looks like a steering wheel (also on the left in text it will say get in as driver) that is when you click or press enter. For opening building doors, those that can be entered will have an icon shaped like two arrows facing outwards to open if you have the cursor in the right place over the door. To close, the icon will be two arrows facing inwards. In both cases click the text on the left or press enter.
To check the inventory of an accessible vehicle hover the cursor usually at the rear end but varies, you will get an icon that looks like a rifle, a menu on the left pops up that says gear, click that or press enter.
Pro tip: Do not click the fire button on the mouse....Lol. If you do be prepared to run or hide.
