what is up with Arma 2 and its DLCs?

why do I have to install all of them one by one, and why it shows me on Steam that I do not own ArmA 2 when I clearly have everything I think.

because it is like that, it has always been like that, they are retail versions that they put on steam, that simple, and it doesn't matter that it doesn't show you that you don't have A2, you have it, it doesn't affect you in any way, that's because it was duplicated and now they deleted one, the only thing left of the other is the forum, but the store was removed.

so how do I play? I want to play the campaign of both Atma 2 and Arma 2 Arrowhead, do I need to install them separately?

if you don't have the DLC just skip that step.

You should also consider that the DLC's are from ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, they don't work with ArmA 2 Standalone, I say this because you are posting your message in the ArmA 2 Standalone forum.

If you install everything, ArmA 2 Standalone, ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, and the DLC's you can directly run; ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead and it will run as ArmA 2 Combined Operations, that is, all the content together as one, and there you will see the campaigns of ArmA2 Standalone, ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead, and DLC's

Once you have everything installed just run ArmA 2 Operation Arrowhead and you will have everything working together as ArmA 2 Combined Operations + DLC's and their respective campaigns-
