G1 & STILL NO JAZZ ?!

Come on! If you're already making a game about the G1 transformers - you can't leave out the coolest autobot to ever exisit in the whole franchise (and you know, Optimus Prime's freaking right-hand man)! Sigh. All these opportunites for hilarious one liners.. just wasted. :'c

We can always hope for DLC. Although I love Jazz, personally - I want to play as Megatron. That was one nimble son of a gun.

Jazz was just one of his 'right-hand-men'. He had several. Refered to as Sub-Commanders. They also included Prowl, Grimlock and Ultra Magnus. Just in the G1 series anyway :D But I agree. Jazz was still a pretty cool character. Hopefully this game continually get new characters to play with. Or else it would get old fast with just the 5.

Tbh if we're talking about right-hand men I think Prowl would take that prize among all the sub-commanders, but yeah Jazz should have been a no-brainer. Still surprised they chose Sideswipe as a playable character.

The original voice of Jazz, Scatman Crothers, died 30 years ago. Wouldn't be the same.

They probably chose Sideswipe so they could do an easy reskin as Red Alert (which is one of the three reskins you get as a preorder bonus).

And don't count on playing Megatron - it seems extraordinarily unlikely that there will be a decepticon campaign.

I always thought he didn't have a right hand man; he had a whole group of autobots he worked with while showing astonishingly little favoritism among them. There was definitely not any single other autobot that he consistently treated as a special subcommander or confidant, and there really wasn't any other autobot who seemed to think of himself as being of a higher rank than anybody else (except Grimlock, who obviously wasn't Prime's right hand man).

Basically I'm saying that the G1 cartoon doesn't really match up with the kind of power relationships you folks are talking about.

All this stuff is pretty much up to the fans about who's who in the ranking structure of the autobots. :)

The guy who did the voice for Jazz in Fall f Cybertron was pretty spot on.

They proabably used Sideswipe cause he would be an easy reskin for Sunstreaker, bluestreak, and Red Alert. Same with Bumblbee, could easily be reskinned to cliffjumper, gears, etc. I would have preferred Prime, Bee, Hound, Jazz, and Ironhide as the main playables (let grimlock be a dlc mission). I hope this game spawns a sequel, would love to see a season 3 roster of Rodimus, Cup, Springer, Wheelie, and Arcee.

They got the original actors for the characters. Welker, Berger, Cullen, Gilvezan, etc. Scatman Crothers (Jazz), Casey Kasem (Cliffjumper), Lionel Stander (Kup), Robert Stack (Ultra Magnus) and a lot of the others died some time ago.

If they were gonna put those characters in, they'd have to recast.

Not saying it can't happen, just that if it does it'll likely be later. Start with the stuff you can do easily right now.

People, Wheeljack is in the game's starting lineup and was voiced by Chris Latta, who died in 1994. The game may be trying to get back oringinal actors where possible, but they're not going to hesitate one second to recast if necessary. (It's not like doing so is hard.) Most likely Jazz didn't make the cut because he didn't end up being necessary to the plot (in a way that wheeljack probably is, being the gadget man), and he's not easily repaintable in the way Sideswipe is. Simple as that.
