Phantastic! But what about the original sound effects?
I've never thought that a game like this would ever be made. Graphics are as near as possible to the original series, even eye and laser colors are right. Maybe the graphics style is a bit too colorful, so that the laser effects are not as vibrant as they used to be in the TV series.

To make it even more perfect, something is missing. Besides the great music from the TV Series is the sound effects. What about the typical Autobot and Decepticon weapon sounds? And remember, those of Optimus Prime and Megatron were unique, while Galvatron has got another unique sound! Further, the steps sound different too.

They've managed to put so many details in, even hired the original voice actors and got this wrong? A bit strange and a shame I think.

Hopefully this detail is made right some time with a DLC?

So it would be cool if the ion gun and fusion cannon sounded more like the original series. I agree with your post.

My problem is... this game so far exceeded my expectations, I almost don't care this one small detail is missing.

Along those lines, I wish in the final battle as Optimus there was a QTE where "The Touch" started playing and the QTE is for Optimus to slowly transform and then just drive at Megatron and mess him up.

You know a game's great when the biggest complaint you can find on the forums is a sound nitpick.

I agree with both, though I still plan on picking this up. A decepticon campaign would have been sick, and I really hope that if Activision chooses to make some DLC, a decepticon campaign is first priority.
The theory that the original sounds are too long or difficult to implement doesn't seem likely. I think they didn't bother and used what came handy or the original sounds were not available as single sounds (in proper quality) anymore and not worth (their view) to isolate it from the series/DVD. There must be a few dozen scenes where just a single shot can be heard. Hm... there is still a chance for mods! ^_^

As for the Bayverse: They included its transformation sound in the Main/Option Menu. ;)
Honestly my only real nitpick is with Shockwave's voice.

Bastards, how could they?!

In truth, chances are they couldn't get him. Who knows, maybe #performancematters had to do with it... or he just declined.
Actually if I recall, the original sound effects used an awful lot of ILM licensed resources. It's likely they just didn't want to spend the money.

OP I was just coming to start a thread about this. Its amazing the likeness of the game yet they dont have the correct sounds. Really wish it was possible, at least for the guns.
I also miss the original sounds a lot. Footsteps, music and especially Prime's Ion Cannon sound.

EDIT: yeah it's Ion Blaster I think.
