Good Lord. O.o Well, you should have been able to access the screenshot, but in case not, mine's total damage is VERY close to 13k. My abilities I put on it, however, are much different than yours. Going to try your setup and see how it affects mine.
You're lucky you even got a single SS 6-slot FoSP. My gaming is trolling me hard by not only spawning it uber rarely, but when one does appear in the shop, it's either S-rank 6-slot or SS-rank 5-slot.
What are some of the the things I need to look out for before synthesising a rare weapon in order not to screw it up, though? Ranks and slots, yes, but does the level at which it appears have an influence, or the weapons you merge it with? It appears that each bar only increases by a certain number every time the weapon levels up no matter the stats of the one added to it, and there's where I'm confused.
Edit: Forgot to mention, I have already completed Prime, have several 6-slot SS Star Sabers - of which I only synthesised two, the first and best being the one in the screenshot. I was also lucky enough to acquire an SS 6-slot Dark Star Saber, but I'm scared to even start synthesising it.
What's your max energy on your Star Saber? When I replaced lvl5 Atk. with EnAtk my damage decreased.
For fast syth this is what I did. prime dif, use optimus, boost his rank to 99 to unlock 6 tech slots. develop tech and make 6x100% rare dop tech and equip it to optimus. farm challenge 49 on prime dif and then check shop for SS 6slot items after each challenge 49 finish.
Sell all A or less ranks unless they have a mod you need like atk5+,energonatk5+,cryo5,thermal5,light5,atkspeed5,firerate5,critical5
Sell all garbage weapons with defect mod. don't synth with defect garbage because I have noticed bad luck. some might say it doesn't matter but I have noticed an increased chance in getting less damage from weps with defect mod even though you can remove defect mods.
Select base weapon the one you want to add mods to or boost to level 50. (someone suggested that you can predict the base results by looking at their starting point damage+lvl before syth. I will say I couldn't figure it out and very hard to do and that's why I synth everything to lv 50)
Then select the garbage that you want to convert into progression points or transfer their mods to.
Their is no difference in progression points pertaining to garbage ranks: SS garbage or S garbage. Only the level of the garbage matters. for example SS level 8 garbage will give less progression points than S level 12 garbage. SS lv12 and S lv12 garbage will give equal progression amounts. SS level 10 with give more than S level 9 garbage.
you need sufficient credits to synth so keep S and SS and when you run out of creds and need more you can sell both the S and SS weps that don't have any useful mods. this will give you creds you need. don't be scared of selling SS garbage as farming challenge 49 will constantly drop an overabundance of garbage SS.
switching lv5 atk to lv5 energon atk might look like your doing less damage. however not true. in higher difficulties like prime diff enemies get increased damage resistance against physical atk. that's why lv5 energon atk is better cuz their resistance against non physical attacks are less.
testing your weapon out in the game is the only way to know for sure.
That farming method you mentioned is actually exactly what I've been using since the very start. But for me, 100% rarity for 6 mods slots barely dropped any weapons, so I only kept three of them for rarity increase. I sell all items that are S and SS with less than six slots, so money isn't a problem. More than 50 million.
That's a part where I'm also confused. Using the SS Star Saber as an example again. I started modding a level 12 one and a level 8 one. By level 50, the level 12 one turned out to be the strongest. I thought starting earlier would allow me to put more stats into it, but apparently not. Even with my best make didn't have all its bars filled. Seems the Star Saber can't go past 200 max energy or max its base damage.
Ahh, thanks for clearing up the progression system! But how did you determine the weapons' damage when it appears to be decreasing? It's just like you said, the overall attack power of my weapon dropped dramatically, from 12k to 10k. So how, then, does one determine its true damage? Aye, not only resistances, but they parry almost anything.
Energon Attack Synthesis is visually bugged. Additions or removals of this stat will not reflect in the Synthesis Window, and will only be updated once the weapon has been completed and returned to your Inventory.
