Course if you are human, thats bad for reputation, so you want to just.. fight them earlier or you'll have to learn some tactics :p
Dunno, kind of would be nice if they'd have atleast a little restraint from expanding accross the entirety of the map at the lowest aggression settings, so I can agree with you atleast on that part.
Also, Inns are amazing backup armies if you have the money laying around.

Expanding as quickly as the AI in the early game is easy once you know how. I have trouble expanding later on though, when I'm trying to pay attention to other things. It also gets tricky when one AI team surrenders to another. I've seen a kingdom take up 3/4ths of the map very quickly just from having others surrender to it early.
One thing I used to always forget is that you can move your town if you start out close to Frythans. The AI Frythans will leave you alone while you get your wagons away.
The costs of breeding new Fryhtan (monster) units have been increased for improved gameplay balance.
The issue that some users have previously reported about the Fryhtans being too aggressive in attacking the humans has thus been resolved. Attacks from Fryhtans will be less frequent.
With this change, the player will be able to focus on long term strategic planning for building an empire, bringing Seven Kingdoms 2 HD’s pace of gameplay closer to the original Seven Kingdoms.
We also recommend you to try out the new “Large Map” mode (4 times as larger as the original map) that comes with the HD version. These new settings together add even more strategic depth to the game.
Diplomacy is such a big part of the this game/franchise (played 7K and 7KAA), but then it just goes to crap after a while, not matter how strong the ties have been the whole time.
But in the games I played, I didn't experience this issue of having all AI declaring war against me. It depends on the situation and varies from game to game. I also didn't get AI all surrendered to me in my games either.
If this persists in your game, please send your save game to us at the email address listed here: http://www.7k2hd.com/support-2/ And we will look into it.
Unfortunately, I was just playing and forgot to save manually, so I can't send this one, but I did send the one that prompt my first post in the thread.
In fact, there seems to be a LOT of war declaring against me in my games, often just up and out of the blue. Sometimes, they don't even ever attack.
Just seems like diplomacy is...wierd. Had an AI accept a Friendly treaty from me...then immediately cancel it. It's really hard to get the AI to cooperate, even after offering aid or having been cooperative/agreeable with the kingdom and never hostile, etc.
I was.
It happened ONCE to me and it started a war. The one that surrendered to me had a fort attached to a Green AI's town and that caused the Green player to declare war on me lol.
Usually I am taking attacks from all sides, but since they attack in long single-file lines it is not much trouble. If they came at me by forming up first and THEN attacking though, I'd be in trouble.
I don't remember if the diplomacy was like this back when I played on CD (I remember the single-file lines though, that's not new.)
Most of the time I'm actually overwhelmed by all the things happening at the same time.
Sometimes they are just mad. I played as frythan and captured a few towns, some AI then built camp on my captured town. Seeing that it's owned by me, they got angry and declared war on me. I squashed them out, then they asked for "Cease-Fire".
I misclicked, and choosed Reject instead. So I hurry open my diplomacy, and ask him for cease fire.
NOPE, he rejected my offer. I was like wtf? dude weren't you asked for it a few secs ago?
also, tips for newbie that often get overwhelmed by all things happening at the same time: Space bar (Pause) is your best friend!
I'm opening up another thread about the "Surrendering" thing, hoping it gets some attention. The devs seem to be serious about balancing the game, so I'm sure it'll be looked at soon.
