i own 2 copys of this game and love it so could be nice to have a better version of this game on steam, the sequel is just meh compare with the original

No, your not the only one. In fact majority of players that played both games like the first one more. And it was/is played for a lot longer than the second one when we are talking about multi.

There where active tournaments and organizations on some sites (the link you posted) few years ago when I last time played.

I played the original 7K but didn't play AA. I love 7K2, and personally do not think it's as empty as others say it is. Was there a big diference between the original 7K and AA?

Why not just buy it from GOG? It requires you to set up an account, but the game is not tied to that account, and once downloaded you don't have to use that account ever again (unless you lose your downloaded game).

Or even better, as someone said below, the game can be gotten for free (legally) elsewhere.
