I understand that there is no longer LAN/TCP-IP game as it was in not-HD version (which is the shame).

But it is not possible to download "Seven Kingdoms 2 HD Multiplayer Client installer" even to play through http://www.gameranger.com/ (which is anal but whatever).
When you click on "Click here" (http://www.7k2hd.com/multiplayer-guide/) you get

530-Login incorrect.
530 Username or password is incorrect. Please try again.

error. Therefore multiplayer is not possible at all?

There is no single problem with 1999 year game multiplayer, it works fine even today. It is very sad that so enormously important feature was cut off in HD version.

Even with a drag like GameRanger at least it should try to work a little.
If there would be TCP/IP connection possibility (as in good old game) it would be absolutely great.

can be downloaded automatically by steam?

Is there any possibility to combine old multiplayer with HD version of the game?
Or any way to avoid using GameRangers (and possibly other third party software)?

Result is the same.
I think the problem is with FTP access. In other browsers (in FireFox you get the error right away) it asks for login and password (Google Chrome).
My friend tried the link for the same result.

Actually www.7k2hd.com is not a FTP site. It is just a normal web site. Could you please type directly "www.7k2hd.com" on your browser instead of linking on the above link and see if it works for you?

So now that it is possible to download multiplayer version I will try to clarify some things.

• For multiplayer the best is just to use good old (name it classic) version. 1024x768 resolution is not that bad. Other features... Well, you can play without them.
  
• There is no multiplayer in steam version of the game. At all. Even TCP/IP multiplayer is no more. I guess there were some grave reasons to do it. So...
  
• For multiplayer you just download the multiplayer version of the game not related in any way to steam or your account. Then you play it with GameRangers like you could've played classic version of the game. Though in HD version you can do it ONLY with GameRangers while you can play without installing any third party software with classic version.

I hope it is possible to see HD version not inferior to classic version. At least adding multiplayer (TCP/IP like in classic vervion is enough I think and better in any way than GameRanger solution) would be cool.

Nevertheless I am glad too see one of my favorite games in HD. I've bought copy to myself and friend to play multiplayer even though I could've done it better with classic version or absolutely the same way without steam at all.
I still look forward to see some improvements.

I know you hate anybody that buys your game, but can you actually do what we want and make multiplayer work again? That would be what a good developer would do.

Being able to use 1400x900 resolution would be nice too.

Is there any chance of steam integration for multiplayer eventually? It would be nice to just be a click away from creating lobbies and inviting steam friends into game.

A step further would be some kind of ladder but I don't think it would really fit this kind of game.

The reason why we replaced the manual TCP/IP connection option with GameRanger is that the
TCP/IP option requires users to manually enter the IP of the hosting computer which is not very convenient. The GameRanger option, which requires a few steps to set up. But once it has been set up, it is a lot easier to start a multiplayer game.
