resolution launch issues (FIXED)
resolution launch issues

When i first tried to start the game it crashes and gives me a error along the lines of this:

"set mode failed (dder_unsupported) width 800 hieght 600 32 is disp mode supported"

in order for me to start the game I must

go to game properties, set launch options, and use steam command -windowed in order to lanch

in game the only functioning resolution is 800x600 windowed. 1024x768 does not function properly, I only get vision by moving my cursor as if i need to erase the prior image with my cursor. all changes to fullscreen resolution settings are for some reason not saved. it closes the game and when i restart it it act like i never changed my resolution settings.

any solutions?

What is your screen resolution? Maybe sounds stupid, but try to execute the game as adm. What OS are you running? Try changing the compatibility in Properties -> Compatibility, check Override high DPI display scaling behavior too.
After all the game should have your screen resolution as an option.

1366x 768 generic monitor/tv

running steam in adm has same results

I do not have a compatibility tab, do I need to activate advanced settings somewhere?

it crashes on start. and im unable to manually change setings ingame. if their is something i can edit in the game files i could try that. I just do not know where the resolution file is in the folders.

still wierdly relivant

Here...

Windows 10 On the compatability settings page
Its now the "override high DPI scaling behavior"
Set that to "Application" in the drop down.

So the game resolution will bug up if windows attemps to deal with the high dpi scaling in some cases. This also causes things to break like the cursor and black screening.. even resolution setting issues.

You will have to remove the -w from launch options, that just clears / breaks the ability to set anything higher then 800x600.

--Edit: of course if you still got troubles after all that, well leave a comment.

I am now able to play full screen in 1024x768 as dev stated this was compatible.
