2. No Russian bias
3. No BigWorld engine nonsense
4. Surprisingly, less grindy and less p2w
NF's certainly not without its problems, but after having played WoT for several years, I'm not touching anything made by WG with a 50ft pole. Plus, I've been extremely underwhelmed by all of the gameplay footage I've seen of WoWS. To me, it looks like they just took Battlestations Midway, gave it a slight graphical update, then watered down the gameplay and slapped it into a worse game engine.
Mostly agree, I'm still holding out hope that its not simply a reskinned/remodelled WOT, but outlook not so good.
Agree'd.
This is an arcade game and should be treated as such. Come on in and play. Its free. Then leave when u get bored. Mabey (but NF1 was the same though had larger battles) they will include more things to do here but i honestly cant see what more they could do other than bring back that island caping mode but that doesnt seem like a huge game changer.
As everyone has siad you cant compare the two games. May as well go compare Halo to Cod or C&C to CoH. Just look for what you want in ship combat. WoW to me seems underwhelming, too much fps gameplay for my taste.
But this game is pretty fun for what it is. An instant action 10-20min ship deathmatch game akin to Sid Miers PIrates.
Ill get bored of this game i expect in a month or so but ill nvr try WoW. Ill just keep waiting as i have since i played NF1 all those years ago. Ill keep waiting for a real naval combat game im looking for. Ive waited this long for a sim tower remake, vn's to hit the western world legally, and i shall continue to wait for a good naval warfare game. Do yourself a favor, dl it, play it, stop wondering if you should. You have nothing else better to do. Otherwise ud nvr have posted here. Its free. Its why i nvr post "uhh should i play this game/convince me this is worth my time/ this or (X)?" threads for free games, just dl em and play em.
Personally I'd love to see a weekly nation v nation championship match for a week-long prize to everyone in that nation. All week long, for every ship you sink, you get one lottery ticket. On Friday, a random time is chosen and announced for the Sunday semifinals. On Sunday, at the appointed hour, players get invites to the semi-final 24v24 matches to be played on an extra-large map. Players can accept or decline. Whichever two nations win their Sunday battle, they return on Monday for the championship battle. Whichever nation wins that gets a week-long prize. Something small but meaningful, like +1 knot speed for a week, or + 3% deck armor with no speed penalty or something.
This would encourage players to get on TS and actually work as a team with meaningful fleet tactics and strategy, which is something this game definitely needs more of.
All you do in this game is run the agonizing gauntlet of pathetic warships, constantly getting obliterated and seal clubbed by higher tiers and when you finally reach end tier, thats it. End game. Nothing more to spend your exp on, nothing to spend credits on. Non-endtier ship upgrades that are not relevant to the ship upgrade line are a waste of exp and half are useless or provide no benefit anyway a.k.a all sonar related and boiler upgrades, AAA upgrades, etc.
Someone said this should have been one of those games for tablet or something and I'd have to agree.
No one says you have to hang out with the ultra-powerful enemy instead of the ultra-powerful ally. If you are low level, you are probabaly fast, so you can reach the enemy's battleships faster than your allied battleships can get there. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. If you charge! at every enemy you see, then yeah, this game sucks. If you approach it as a complex fleet where each ship class has a particular role and stick to your role, then it is a whole different story.
At the start of each battle, press the ~ key and look at which enemies you should avoid. Then for freak's sake, avoid them. If you get injured, break off. Go capture a base, or escort a high tier ally or search for CVs along the back wall.
Or simply charge everything, fail, and complain that your tier 3 destroyer makes a lousy tank.
