Can't Launch game from Steam

Whenever I attempt to launch NF2 it simply gives me the error... "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."

All I did was install the game and tried to launch it, already tried verifying game cache so not sure whats wrong.

I'm sorry for the trouble. Can you please check this thread to see if the same update helps to resolve your installation error?

Fixed it by installing Visual C++ 2005 from gamefolder "\Navy Field 2 Conqueror of the Ocean\_CommonRedist\vcredist\2005"
