We'd love to do Venetica 2 ... it's on our personal wishlist. Right now we can't go into details on that, maybe in the future. Currently we're not developing anything in that regard.

Well assuming Deck13 is one whole dev group that would mean juggling Lords 2 and any other things planned.. well either way your games are usually great.. I wasn't a huge fan of Blood Knights but it was competantly made

I’m just glad that Deck 13 still exists. I don’t know many developers who take the risk and build games with different unique styles and creative new ideas.

Deck 13 had a lot of bad luck with their publishers during the last couple of years. For a developer of the size of Deck 13 that must have been hard.

There was the adventure game Haunted that was in its final beta stages when the publisher HMH went into administration. So the game wasn’t released late 2009 as planned. Then the publisher JoWood took over and before the game was released went also into administration. Only the third publisher DTP entertainment that took over released the game late 2011. Two years later than planned. Of course time doesn’t stand still and what would have been great graphics 2009 for an adventure only was ok graphics 2011. So the game wasn’t as successful as it could have been. So that meant royalties not only much later but also less than planned.

There also was the action RPG Blood Knights that was supposed to be released summer 2012. And the next publisher (now DTP entertainment) went into administration. Again it took quite some time until they found a publisher (Kalypso) to have the game released. And they were even forced to co-publish the game which means additional financial risks. The game was finally released late 2013. Again graphics looked more dated than if would have been looked one and a half year earlier. Again that meant royalties not only much later but also less than planned.

There is more than one medium sized developer that went into administration with more than one project getting into trouble like this. So as I said I’m really glad Deck 13 is still there. And I’m happy to see that with Venetica they can release one of their older games on Steam now, because DTP entertainment was the publisher of that game too, but underestimated Steam and therefore never released it here. But they still had certain rights even after they went into administration. Looks that now Deck 13 now have the rights and can generate at least some money with the Steam version. And I think they deserve it!

Apart from all that I really like the art style of the game and Scarlet as she doesn’t look like the typical female action hero. I would love to see Venetica 2 for sure.

Really glad to see this game on steam, I waited several years after hearing about it on the xbox 360, just to play it. I loved it. I really wondered why it took so long to come to the US after it had been out for several years. Aside from that, glad it's on steam and I would love to see another if that possible.
