*slaps own hand, don't feed the troll*
you forgot to point out that its form fitting. not something that could be done back then. i see your point though i mean its like posting boobs in a title and wondering why no one takes it serious. its obviously for fun and attention.
Actually, real-life women who compete in full-contact western martial arts have pretty mixed opinions about "boob plate". Samantha Mott, for example, who won the north-american longsword tourney in 2013:

You can see that green segmented cuirass (made of solid steel) she's using has "boob" plate. Not as pronounced as in the game, but it's there.
Armor has *many layers* of padding on the inside, usually made of hard boiled leather and very thick cotton padding. A fall will not break your sternum, unless you're an idiot and just wearing the plate on your skin.
What's facing the skin is what counts, when it comes to injuries.
All I have is:

As for the statement that you die if you tumble in battle I agree, but with a boobplate design you die if you trip and fall on your way to the battlegrounds. It will the most embarrasing death of all.
Kudos to mseuss (dev) for answering the question. Playing the daughter of death sounds awesome and then armor is optional or purely for estetic design. If you could find a way to make it more leathal (think madonna bra from the 80-ies), go with that.
I'll definitely check out the trailer and maybe download the demo if you got one.
Demo..... complains and wants the game changed to suit himself and cant even fork over 8 bucks.......amateur bagger
They cry for 'realism' (zomgz shhezza brake hur sternumz!!!1), while at the same time we have a woman who is the 'daughter of Death' along with other high fantasy characters and events that are completely outside the realm of real or possible and that seems to be of no concern to them.
What about fantasy do you soft skulled knuckle draggers not understand?
If realism is so important to you then you are clearly looking into the wrong genre of gaming, and maybe shouldn't be gaming in general.
All OP's post really is though, is simply something to ♥♥♥♥♥ about for the sake of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
A rebel without a cause.
What you are really trying to say is: All hail the boobplate and distain to all who oppose it?
Formfitted plate-mail is also on my dislike list. If you are going for the look of a "second skin" kind of armor, you should go for naked or latex suit. If you want plate mail protection, go for a functional plate-mail armor.
There are many games where the user can either choose or mod the skimpyness of armor and costumes and that I think is preferable. Not all want boobplate, not all want realism in a fantasy game. I guess you guys like boobplate.
You know, you can have a high-fantasy setting with all its gods, magic and fantastical creatures etc. and still retain a sense of realism in the way the world physics works. The fantasy elements will have their own physical laws: the rest can be (but does not need to be) dictated by the familiar physical laws.
(I did read the bit about her being a daugher of Death and thus not really needing armor anyway)
Now that was pointless judging.
Regarding armor.... I reckon once the blacksmith has re-tailored most of items Scarlett takes him they all fit like lycra - especially the leather one which appears wonderfully supple.
Wasn't a burn at all. I was talking about the game itself. You absolutely will fall and die before you get any real armor at all, regardless of style. :P
