If you have a Logitech mouse and it is "ghost double-clicking," there are repair videos on YouTube on how to disassemble the mouse and repair the cheap Chinese switches that Logitech uses. If this is the underlying issue, then you probably have ghost clicking happening regularly during normal computer use (i.e. not just this game) but are only just now noticing the behavior. The issue will progressively get worse over time. It takes about 45 minutes to do the repair the first time and 15-30 minutes after that - usually 8 months to 3 years between repairs. The little metal strip inside the switch housing that needs to be bent slightly is very finicky to reinstall and likes to go flying. Logitech knows about the ghosting issue with their switches and refuses to fix it. They intentionally use those ultra-cheap switches so their computer mice wind up in the landfill and they sell more of their overpriced gaming mice to clueless customers...capitalism at its worst. I may have just saved you $50 to $200 and one less mouse sent to the landfill.
The developer might be able to consistently replicate the issue on their end by using an autoclicker app.
I still managed to reproduce the bug two or three times on a large portion of the map (each time in a corner), but it is now very minimal and does not pose a problem.
It does not seem that this is due to my hardware since I have not reproduced a ghost click on the right button anywhere else, which I use regularly. For information I play on Nvidia Shield, perhaps this is a corollary to this bug if most users do not have this issue. If I see that the ghost click problem appears again elsewhere I will update this post.
