I luckily played the game as fast as I could slowly and by the time it was time to play the secret route the patch had already went through. Oh god, I can't imagine how bad it was to wait after seeing the first part o__o
Yeah, the tears! It's usually really rare for me to tear up at anything really, but I teared up so many times through this game. Ugh, my poor feels have been abused.
I was trying for the second ending and counted 20ish times....then tried again after everything reset for 50-60 times....it was terrible finding everything gone and having to cool off ;_; Consequently had to play it twice so I was furiously clicking like a boss and managed to finish the first 3 routes in 30 minutes each D;
I'm not an easy crier while playing games and watching shows and all that jazz (Clannad and Air got me in the last bits, though). But I teared up a little in either Lance's or Yeonho's routes (can't remember), then really teared up in Red's when he was constantly asking Eri "Do you remember me?" enough to post an angry status at (something amongst the lines of "SWEET SOLUTIONS FOR FEMALE GAMERS MY A***" LOLOL)
Now I'm just really down like with what happened after Dandelion and partly madthat since all the dolls with all their development and feelings came together in one route and there's only one Eri their happy endings only work in polygamy....which probably doesn't work out. I DON'T WANT TO THINK ABOUT IT
But I still can't tell if the second secret ending that I'm getting after the patch is the complete one.
Guys, is it it supposed to go straight to 'The End' screen after the second ending movie clip? Or is there something that I'm still not seeing? Cause if I remember correctly in all the other routes there was still some portion of the text after 'The End' screen. Or maybe I'm just paranoid after not seeing the full ending for so long but I've been hurt before...
Check your memories for the ??? character--does it say you have both Endings 1 and 2? Then you've seen both of them! His CGs should all be filled out as well. I think the memories themselves may be bugged, though--when I try to view either of them, I get an unmoving screen (I formerly had this problem with Tei but it was fixed with the patch), but it's easy enough to just watch the entire endings themselves by starting a new game, I guess! If you have all the CGs and the memories, you're definitely done, though. Alas!
And Sierra, I was talking with curry about that last bit--SO WHAT GOES DOWN NOW? Who's where and with whom? And how? What? What? Whaaaaat? So you're not alone... *cries*
But can you just tell me if after the second ending credits clip it just goes to 'the end' screen or is there still some text left after that? Then I'll be able to rest in peace:) sorry for bugging you
The End is the end! I just checked again to make sure, and yes, that's what happens for me too. The closing song plays and then The End screen appears. We got Cheritz'd. There, there, at least we have this recovery group...!
I was kinda disappointed though. I was hoping to know what happened to the HOT5 and what version of reality they ended up in... Like you said - whaaaat?
P.S. Nice profile pic! I love Alfons Mucha and everything resembling his style :)
And as for everything regarding the fate of the HOT5...was there a Christmas CD for Nameless like there was for Dandelion? I mean, I'm sure it'd be sold out by now if there were, but it's nice to imagine that each guy got their own little happy Christmas story. I WANT TO BELIEVE.
Anyways, who was your favorite character?
Mine were Lance and Yuri. They were mature enough and... lemme say mentally stable. Although my first pick was Tei, just judging by the looks, but when I actually got to his route... Just wow. Such a freaky dude. Of course he's still sweet and stuff... But I just couldn't fully immerse in his happy ending having seen all the bad ones! And not only in his route but he actually managed to ooze into the other routes' bad ending too! So when I got to his happy ending I was like 'yeah, you're not fooling me - I know that deep down you just wanna spike my tea and whatnot, you maniac'. Thanks to him I'm never gonna let anyone make me tea ever again. :))
That's almost entirely how it went down with me! I went after Yuri first (I was possibly influenced by his frequent shirtlessness) steeling myself for a whole lot of playboy nonsense, but I was very very pleasantly surprised with how things played out and the reasons behind his outrageous behavior. I did Lance's route second and was equally impressed; even though Nameless uses some common otome game/shoujo tropes (overly flirty guy and super-cold-with-marshmallow-center tsundere) there are actual story-related reasons that make sense! ~Doll psychology~
I also liked Red a lot more than I expected, but he still seemed a bit more like a big dumb lovable puppy than a boyfriend at the end, even as sweet and persistent as he was.
I also did Yuri first. In fact, I think I like him best but maybe that's just the imprinting effect.
As for the tropes - yes, I thought something like that too. Even though I don't play a lot of otome games or watch a lot of anime to know those stereotypes, but I did start playing Dandelion and I remembered that there was also a very strict and contained character with long silver hair in there. And also a younger sweet character like Yeonho in Nameless. So cheritz is repeating itself a bit, I think. But I didn't mind because I dropped Dandelion pretty soon (I don't like the stat raising thing) so I only knew those characters very superficially.
Speaking about Red, I thought the same. Even though it was very sweet of him to stick with the heroine during memory loss, he's just too goofy and childish for my taste. The same goes for Yeonho - he's portrayed very young, is he even old enough to date? I just couldn't take him seriously.
So yeah, Lance and Yuri for the win! By the way, between those two I'd sooner choose Yuri. He seemed more romantic for some reason.
That's a shame, but I understand! I loved Dandelion, stat-raising and all, but I felt like a dog getting a treat whenever the story advanced after days of raising my stats over and over and over.
Some of the characters may share basic archetypes between Dandelion and Nameless, but they're actually incredibly different. Jihae was actually on the opposite end of the politeness scale than Lance, and Yeonho vs. Jieun...aaaaaa. *hides* I unexpectedly ended up ADORING Jieun (he also had the happiest ending, if you ask me), but Yeonhmaster, why are you writing things like this? Did I do something wrong? Are you tired of me? I'll never disappoint you again, master...
I wonder what kind of game cheritz will release next and whether it'll have stat-raising in it. Can't wait :) I'm also waiting to play Solstice from moacube, the guys that made Cinders (I see you play it too).
The one thing I wasn't expecting from this game was the depth with each guy's personality, honestly. It was quite refreshing compared to some rather personality-lacking LIs. As for an honorable mention, I've gotta say our MC is quite sassy, which makes me quite happy!
And oh got the stats-based gameplay with Dandelion drove me up a wall still completed everything anyway. I'm so glad that Nameless was a choice driven otome game, rather than stats. Whew. Yeah I wonder if Cheritz will announce their next project soon...
