Set the commandline options to: -windowed -d3d9 -novideo
Or, instead add: -autoconfig -windowed -noborder to your startup settings inside the games library.
And download this if you truly want to play full screen mode: https://www.howtogeek.com/324835/how-to-play-any-windows-game-in-full-screen-borderless-windowed-mode/
And here's the fix from the Drakensang: The Dark Eye forum:
Add this command line to the launcher: -d3d9 -windowed
Start the game and adjust graphical settings to your liking.
You might have to ALT-Enter (fullscreen) each time you start the game.
I always assumed it had something to do with right clicking on the desktop icon and opening up the properties and putting it in there.
If you search Win 10 here on the thread maybe one of the earlier one's spells it all out.
Sorry I can't be of more help.
Select Properties
The Properties Tab opens
Click on the button "Set Launch Options"
There is the command line for steam games
aquí os dejo un vídeo con una solución viable
fixed the issue.. just download.. run.. load up game.. hit f3.. walla.. full screen fun =)
odd considering you can ALT ENTER in the first game.. to get to full screen.. but that doesnt seem to work for this one.. /sigh
I'm also getting concerned about the overall look of the game. What I've seen so far on my Windows 10 computer just doesn't look crisp, and one of the things about Drakensang was that the images were remarkably clear and crisp, even when they weren't.
So I may have to play around with finding a less rectangular and more square aspect ratio for Drakensang, even if that means lower resolution.
In the meantime my River of Time problems are mounting, because I've only managed to get River of Time to work once, and I can't seem to replicate that, no matter what command line I use.
This worked for me:Add this command line to the launcher: -d3d9 -windowed
I tried using the fix with -windowed and -novideo and all, but I probably didn't put it in the right place - either my exe stopped being an exe or it didn't change anything. Can anyone playing the fix please screenshot me where to put the modification exactly? Or has any other idea how to get a result? Its my 3rd day with that issue and I am quite frustrated by now.
OK, it looks like the various steam patches have changed a few things so ....
Open your Steam Library
Find the game in the left hand column of games
Right click on the game in your steam library. A drop down box will open
Select Properties. It's the last one listed
The Properties box opens and is labeled General
It's split into 2 halves, ignore the left side and look at the right side. Down at the bottom is a entry box label LAUNCH OPTIONS
That is where (that box) you enter the code into.
NOW A QUESTION:
Are you running River of Time ALL BY ITSELF?
Or
Have you loaded in the DLC PHIL'S SECRET?
IF you have the DLC added, DON'T bother will doing anything to the River of Time game, but do the code in the PHIL'S SECRET 'game's' properties box.
Does it help to use Phils secret or is it just the same?
Means a lot to me as I wrote my Master thesis about this very game about 10 years ago. So happy to be able to revisit now. Thanks a lot!
Once you've loaded Phil's Secret you can pretty much ignore RoT. In fact if you don't play via Phil's Secret you won't see any of those quests in the game.
For me the flow was load Phil's Secret then exit, then start up RoT til you get to the main menu (I think it needs to create some files), exit, NOW start up Phil's Secret and just play it normal.
While I have the original on disk, RoT and Phil's Secret are both via Steam and after I started playing Phil's Secret I removed RoT from my active games as it wasn't needed.

You're welcome, happy to be of help.
