Won';t work in Windows 7 :-(

Gave up trying to run this in Windows 10, now rnning it in Windows 7 on my old PC but exactly the same problems. Tells me that it can't find half the files - same as the expanssion too.

IIRC the install was broken if you installed river of time together with the Extension.
You need to deinstall both and install then one after the other.

Thanks. Which order should I reinstall them in? And should I install the main game first?

I think it was River of Time first and then Phileassons secret.

What about the main game? Should I install that before either of the other two?

Main game is totally seperate; do or do not, doesn't matter. :)

Install RoT and then install Phil's Secret.

After that open up RoT, let it make it all the way to the main menu, then close it. After that you can open Phil's Secret, create a character and play the game.

Don't ask why that's the setup, but it's what is needed to get Phil's Secret to run right.

Beginning splash screen is different for Phil's Secret so you'll know if it actaully loaded.

Thanks, done that but it hasn't made any difference. Still won't start or even get to main menu, just comes up with the same daft error message and says it can't find half the files... :-(

Only thing else then is when I D/L steam games I have to go to myStopzilla settings and turn off the web filter while it D/L otherwise it won't work. Then after I turn it back on.

You might try just disabling your Anti-Virus while D/L the game and give that a try.

I could disable my anti virus but it doesn't seem to affect any other games anyway

I only found it screwed with my Steam Downloads nothing else. Which Anti-virus do you have?

Kaspersky. Its a competely new rebuild of the old machine with virgin Windows 7 and a brand new OS

Only know it via my son saying it's on his new machine. I've got Norton & StopZilla. I would think when you open it's panel it should have a settings area where you can turn off the web filter while you D/L the game, which is all I have to do each time I D/L from Steam.
