Some accessibility and QoL suggestions
Just a few suggestions to make the game easier to enjoy from my own playing experience after nearly 20 hours of playtime.

  • Include an option to lower the speed of combat dialogue. It goes by too fast and sometimes something will happen and I wasn't able to catch what caused it.
  • Show how much soap and toothpaste you have in your inventory. Unless I'm blind and just didn't see it in there.
  • Include the ability to repair weapons with duct tape without having to unequip them, but I understand if that was implemented for balance to prevent repairing weapons during battle.
  • Please add an option to disable the eating noise that happens when you make meals at home. Having to mute my audio every time is annoying.
DIY FIX: you can navigate to the game files and I assume replace any asset as long as the new asset has the exact file name and type as the one it's replacing. For example, replace the eating sound with any .ogg file by naming the new asset "EatingMeal.ogg" and replacing it in the game's se directory. Thanks to this guide for showing me it's possible to do: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3459638989
  • Perhaps a map would be useful, even if it's just a jpeg of the apartment layout similar to how Silent Hill does it. It could be a purchasable item or one that can be found, but obviously disabled on 1F and during the landlord's section.
  • Let me put Philippe's remains to rest.

Feel free to add your own suggestions in the comments. Idk if this is the right place to make suggestions, but there wasn't a pinned or open thread for general suggestions.

EDIT: formatting
EDIT 2: added a DIY method to disable eating sounds (and anything else!) if you're like me and hate hearing them

I second that.

Thank you for the guide. Some le scary sfx ignore my volume settings and always play at 200% volume, so I will disable them. For such a great horror game this is a cheap and unnecessary tactic that ruins the immersion instead of improving it.

Edit: Turns out the sound effects are just really loud. I'll try to lower their volume instead
