Who is. . Sam? (Main character)

Like. . What do we know about the main character?
I'm curious because we only know that he was unemployed, but I mean I only got two endings, flawed ritual and no going back
But I didn't see anything about him or his backstory. .

So idk if in another ending we know more

I think Sam is the sort of guy who WANTS an apocalypse, even if he doesn't realize it. It doesn't take long for him to get used to bashing his former neighbors to bits with a baseball bat, he comes home from long excursions feeling excited by all the danger, and what really sold it for me was when Sybil asks him what he misses about the before times, he can answer that he "kind of likes this". From all that I've seen in the game it seems like Sam was in a depressive slump before the apocalypse, he was unemployed, didn't socialize much, his plant was neglected, and even his video game collection went mostly unplayed. Now he's getting out of the house, meeting all sorts of people, getting exercise, learning new skills, he's totally turned his life around!

Yeees! That’s a great view, But now that u say it, it really seemed like Sam had depression, because unemployment and loneliness

Sam may took chance, but he also had mental break down based on his survival attempts. depressed dude, yes. psycho? no.

Sam is probably had a chemist degree or studied it as he can make those throwing items. He is said to be unemployed by Joel when you have some party banter but thats just him maybe teasing the guy. Other then that he worked with our favorite Photographer at convenient store. Hes multi talented as he can cook well, and oddly resourceful.

There’s a part where he overthink about killing their neighbors, specifically about the tooth apartment part, and u can Acept that u murder them, as u can deny it, so to be honest I believe that in the beginning he was just kinda depressed but with that survival attempts his mentality has been going down

Actually the “unemployment” isn’t just said by Joel, it’s said by sibyl when you talk to her in the begging of a new game, also she also says that she’s unemployed too
