Is this game similar to Fear and Hunger? (keep responses spoiler free please!!!)
So I am a big fear and hunger fan and watching the trailer and looking at the screenshots, I'm getting some pretty good vibes from it as they seem to match the combat and the similar play styles. Obviously fear and hunger is a very dark and morbid game so i don't expect this game to match it in that aspect, however, I am just wondering if Look Outside is played similarly to Fear and Hunger in any way. Thank you for your time!!

Yeah, there are quite a lot of similarities. This game leans more towards a classic RPG format, but it does have a great dark setting, memorable characters, rewarding survival elements, difficult choices and silly instant game-overs.

I'd say this game is the most similar to the F&H of all, but still these two are different games. Some core gameplay fearures are almost the same in both games, though.
Gameplay is a lot more forgiving than Fear & Hunger -- there are resource management elements but once you get past the first third of the game or so you'll have so many weapons and healing items that you don't need to manage them too closely. You also don't have things like limbs and coin flips which gets rid of a lot of annoying deaths but also takes all the tension out of endgame combat when every character can hit like a truck and take 5 or 6 good hits before going down. Really enjoyed the game a lot but it scratches a different itch closer to like a Resident Evil or golden age RPGMaker horror stuff like Ib or Mad Father. That being said if you're intrigued by the trailer and don't mind the experience being sillier and less challenging than F&H I'd highly recommend it!!

(also worth noting that dev is taking community feedback and actively working to address difficulty concerns so who knows, it might be hard like F&H in a week or two :p)

Similar but much more forgiving, instead of coin toss deadly combats, its more like a slow burn: how many enemies can you take down before you run back to base and heal up.
Its only similar as a survival horror turn based rpg, this game focus a lot more than FaH in resource management, in FaH you dont that so often bc u barely have items and u normally just reload ur savefile if things go south. Here you normally live with the consequences of your bad choices, not only the good ones, unless u wanna minmax your time and keep reloading.
The game has a lot of sim game features that makes it a lot different too, its like a stardew valley x fear and hunger weird but lovable mix

It's really cool too how even the premise is similar to Fear and Hunger 2 where the people are getting turned into monsters by an eldritch cosmic being and I absolutely love both of the game's monster designs and characters!

Fear and Hunger's horror meets Zombies ate My Neighbor's art style.

Yes, not as serious as fear and hunger, a more comical version
Yeah, it's fairly similar, albeit more comical like Ziosj said. However, one big thing that sets them apart is that you really want to take fights. In F&H it's optimal to skip basically every unnecessary fight, but here you get experience from enemies, so it's important to fight at least somewhat often to get more hp/stm(skill resources) and slightly higher base stats.
