Are there any particular steps I need in order to go to war with the roaches for the achievement? I seem to be missing something :p

Take them back to your apartment. Let them multiply and then every day just kill a few. They will give you white notes again saying things like "YOU ARE BAD!" and eventually it just popped.

Also a giant one spawned in my toilet but it died in 1 hit, which was anticlimactic.

So when exactly do I start killing them? Like, when the first note pops up, or later?

You can start killing them in your apartment whenever you like, (havent tested if just killing them while they are in your backpack will cause the note events to trigger) but after killing a few, either by eating them or squishing them, then sleeping will cause the roaches to eventually bring you threat notes. Continue killing them to eventually get a note saying you are an enemy, or words to that effect and the achievement will pop.

i start killing them after they came with a note, don't read just kill the messenger XD

I started popping them almost immediately, walking between my bedroom and main room to respawn, probably killed around 30 over a couple days, while also grabbing more from outside to help the growth, before I woke up to a roach delivering a war declaration, to which I set up the gas bomb

I probably overdid it by gas bombing them. For some reason this achievement is hard to get.

If you want a speedy way to get the achievement, there is a code you can use in game to unlock a sort of debug mode. This allows you to choose roach spawn rates and roach reputation.

Well, the variants needed to make the event happen from what I saw was bring as many roaches back to the apartment until the numbers are higher, then squish/eat them repeatedly would be my guess.

I figured just squishing/eating them all at the apartment for a few days in game would be sufficient, but it wasn't. I gave it about 3-4 days in game of doing it before I opted to look for other methods.

I think the problem is figuring out the numbers and what action effects the reputation.

The gas bomb might shift everything, but not sure.

This is the last achievement I need! Even after bringing back several roaches, I can't get them to spawn consistently. :(

OK, so you kinda have to control the population. First of all, you dont have enough roaches in the building to get the achievement, so you have to let them increase in numbers, I even fed them once by leaving some food for a night (not sure if it is necessary, but eh). Then, you have to squish them every day but be careful not to kill everyone or to reduce their population drastically. I'd say 3-4 per day is fine. And yeah, using gas bomb is devastating to their numbers, I'd advice against it.

This was also my last achievement. If you are open to using codes, this can be done quite a bit faster.

From the guides I have read basically, each roach you catch outside of the apartment should be brought back to your home originally. Do NOT squish them until later. My last playthrough I actually wasn't able to get any the natural way which is why I resorted to using codes. Putting food out/leaving it out does help as well.

I am guessing after the population is good, you can begin to squish or eat them. I am guessing eating them rather than squishing them provides more negative reputation points towards the roaches, but you want to avoid the gas bomb since that will just outright decimate their numbers, not sure if it changes the reputation either.





For those of you who want the achievement now and want to use codes. I will list a spoiler of how to do so.


Do not read any further if you don't wish to use cheats.




Beside your dresser in your bedroom, to the right of this face the wall, then enter code 0451. A message pops up saying cheats enabled.

You should see little icons around the apartment. Go into the living room and there should be a spawn roach cheat towards the bottom, I think second icon in.

You want to increase roach numbers up, then take reputation down.

Use the clock cheat to change to night, sleep and repeat until you get the achievement.

I think I had the spawn of roaches set to around 600 and the roach reputation set to -650. I believe if the reputation exceeds number of roaches, the conditions for the achievement are met.
