2) Yes, but there's random door merchants that can let you buy more in addition to set merchants and plenty of stuff to find around the building.
3) No. The most that can be said is there's an early difficult encounter that if you skip you lose access to an optional character.
4) You have a 15 day time limit, at which point you'll get an ending, not a game over.
Resources are finite but not terribly limited either. Resources in the environment don't respawn but the static shops restock every day along with traders who randomly visit your home. So money is your biggest limiting factor for resource-able items.
There aren't any totally unwinnable situations that I'm aware of. There are some encounters you may not be equipped to handle when you can 1st run into them. There is a non-repeatable encounter fairly early in the game that rewards with a party member if you square up and beat it.
There is an ending for waiting out the 15 days. In game days are very long unless you skip time so hitting the "you waited it out" ending by accident is pretty unlikely.
