Ritual ending ?

So, I got the flawed ritual ending, probably due to not finding a VHS tape. (Where's one for recording int he security office?).
What I don't understand is everyone going off to the ritual if a part was missing (and them dissapearing without me being able to hand anything else to them) - what do you do at that stage?

VHS is located in the convenience store. You get the key in the Mold area in the basement. Then take the key to the backdoor of the convenience store which is the first door on the ground floor next to the stairs.
