Is there any downside to feeding the wall mouth the rat baby, or is it 100% a costless (except for mental) thing to do?
It won't eat all my food instead, and offering it one of my arms is too much.

Is that all? I assumed it would come with it's own counter-ballance thing to offset the arm loss.

If you raise it you will have some stats reduced (from having to feed the wall an arm instead, but eventually it can grow into a party member so that's something to consider for at least one play through.

Honestly, I don't regret saving the rat and the interactions are fun, but as a party member he's pure ass for having the lowest HP in the game and also uncapable of equipping anything except for weapons. That unless he grows larger later, get a hidden buff or something like that.
