Where is the projector and canvas bag?

The vibe of the game overall is great.
Would really benefit from a minimap to mark locations you've been to. I've seen the projector before but am struggling to find it again.

Also for the canvas bag it sounded like it's meant to be in the painting rooms but I can't see it anywhere.

Also hard to know if sleeping is what's needed to progress. Some days it feels like I've done everything and had extra time, but couldn't tell if I'd just missed a room.

I think I picked up the canvas bag after killing the painter (the one in the first room, not the one in the fridge in the first room) but I could be misremembering? Projector is in a third floor apartment, in the apartment near the lift all the way on the left side past the MC's apartment - go in and the projector is in the first room on the right.
