would still enjoy this even if i despise JRPG's?
the game looks incredible, and the music really got me hooked. but then i see this is a JRPG, which meanbs it has many mechanics that i absolutely can't stand like all the RNG bullcrap like missing attacks but enemies rarely ever missing, special abilities having chances to fail and enemy attacks that straight up kills you if your luck is bad enough etc.

does this game have similar problems where it's just trial-and-error and not much strategy?
is there a way to enjoy this without dealing with annoying RNG mechanics?

i'm not a fan of turn-based games and RNG too to be honest, but i'm having a blast of this game. The enemies seems to miss more than me too. In my opinion, i think you will enjoy it!!

IMO its's the easiest turn based RPG i've ever played, traditional JRPG are more difficult from my experience. The only time RNG kicks in is if you stay at home to do mundane things play videos games, crossword puzzles, cook food and hygiene

It has plenty of RNG stuff, all the good things that you're complaining about in your post, yes.
Look Outside is more like a survival horror in JRPG clothing, which is both good and bad imo. Battles can usually be avoided and it's smart to choose your battles since they are difficult. You need to frequently take advantage of the resources you gather (survival horror) in conjunction with your equipment and skills (JRPG). The RNG can be brutal sometimes and there's a handful of trial-and-error stuff that can either result in instant or near-instant death, so if you're going to play it, I suggest playing on Easy at first and saving frequently.
