Is the pistol being accurate like a sniper rifle a FPS meme or something?
Quite a stranger to the genre, yet I remember Half Life 2 also had a battle rifle like accurate pistol. In terms of gun mechanics, this game is really well thought out(like the open bolt smg not taking rounds into the chamber). So I'm guessing it's intentional?

Honestly i thought it was an accidental uber pistol. In the first game you had a lot of weapons with different characteristics, the pistol incidentally being much more accurate than the rifle. In the second game every weapon and bullet trajectory seemed more tuned to match their cartridge and weapon length. For instance, the two new pistols both have horrible bullet falloff, as they should have, but since the grenade mounting, semi-auto is a returning classic from the first game (along with the laser rifle), its seems to have kept its op accuracy and near zero falloff. I'm pretty certain it suffers no inaccuracy even if fired while moving as well.
It may be intentional, it might be a bit weird, but as you continue to use a weapon
therefore decreasing their condition, accuracy begins to suffer more and more to the point I wouldn't use handguns for longer distances. They still perform well at close to mid ranges like you might expect them to?

Yes, the meta magnum is what I wanted to refer to. Very fun to use, so no complaints there, but compared to the bullpup rifle I use often it is hilariously stable. Wish there was a meme about it.
Definitely intentional, pretty sure it's not a meme
