Is this one much easier than The Citadel?
When playing on Medium in The Citadel (recent), I got killed quite a bit. In this one, I'm rarely dying, or at risk of dying on Medium. Even with light armor, and no armor plates. In fact, I really kind of have to try to die.

Not here to complain, just wondering if others who played the first are having the same experience. Thanks!

the reason beyond citadel is easier is due to the virtue and vestment system. We did not have these in the previous game.

You are not as fast in this game compared to the previous game.
Your health in the previous game tops out at 22 (I think)
You don't have a passive armor (vestments) to reduce your damage. The only way to reduce damage is to have armor. This game with the vestments combined with juggernaut armor you are a walking tank.
Gunplay in the previous game is also a little bit slower. meaning you can't react as fast in the previous game as this one.

You will eventually see other specific differences the more you play the game, but yes this game is in general easier.

I played zealot in both games and in the first game is was really a struggle but when I ran this game its quite a walk in the park (asides from the rocket launcher not being available in the 2-1 level)

With one set of Virtues maxed out just WALKING in Juggernaut Armor is insanely fast, faster than even trying to RUN with the armor on (and with it off the speed is comparable to a Pilot in Titanfall 2, that is to say insanely fast and a certain part of the game makes that comparison extremely on point.). Combine that with the last Vestment and the Juggernaut Armor and we may as well be comparable to mini-bosses or full bosses in other games... Specifically a Lightning Bruiser type boss, the most annoying kind of boss in some games.
Another thing is that on the open maps,if you are a decent shot you can effectively turn the level into one of those carnival airsoft games.

Using the 20mm or Lever-Action to pick off enemies sends me into memories of sniping in Battlefield 1, took some time to get used to the ballistic trajectories though and it certainly doesn't help that I'm out of practice doing such shots but after a bit it's like riding a bike.

Plenty of people praise the reloading system but the real champ here is the ballistics on a 'boomer shooter'

I haven't had to work as hard for some long distance shots in quite a while but once you get in the swing of things you can really clear some areas... Especially those annoying mortars and rocket launchers... The snipers aren't really that much of a problem, in my opinion, they're easy enough to deal with and they remind me of taking out guys camping in places like the arch on Sinai Desert or in the hills of Monte Grappa... Or in the gatehouse of Fao Fortress all the way from around Objective Apples with just the irons on a Martini-Henry and maybe the Trench Periscope for quick range finding, making shots like that with iron sights was nearly euphoric but I digress. The ballistics in this game are top tier and when combined with the gun handling it's just on a completely different level, it leaves me wanting more games with gunplay like this one and I fear not many would do it just as well as this game has.

24, same as your O2 and food

I'd say yes and no.
I feel the maps are more evenly designed and better balanced so far (playing on hardest difficulty but I'm only ~20% into the game): You're not getting instagibbed in 0,2 seconds from taking one step out from the wrong corner anymore (you do however get annihilated 1,7 seconds if milling around without cover). The sequel feels less stressful to handle, as long as you're careful and observe your surroundings.

Though I gotta say my personal playstyle from the first game feels much harder and less viable in the sequel? I played Citadel like a stealth shooter/game: Always leaning out from behind corners to potshot enemies (I got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ destroyed if I didn't) but I noticed straight away that this isn't really working as well in BC? Shots hit the corner wall while leaning out from it, even if 2/3 of your screen looks out past the side of it and your crosshair's got a clear line of sight to the target. :wat_creep: You almost gotta do small runs out from cover, fire off a few shots and dive back into cover, to pick enemies off.

You could also just post up and snipe on some maps, 20mm seems to be effective on most targets... :ALdrinkemoji: Keep in mind I said most, some it's not that effective but others are surprisingly squishy to 20mm rounds.
