You are not as fast in this game compared to the previous game.
Your health in the previous game tops out at 22 (I think)
You don't have a passive armor (vestments) to reduce your damage. The only way to reduce damage is to have armor. This game with the vestments combined with juggernaut armor you are a walking tank.
Gunplay in the previous game is also a little bit slower. meaning you can't react as fast in the previous game as this one.
You will eventually see other specific differences the more you play the game, but yes this game is in general easier.
I played zealot in both games and in the first game is was really a struggle but when I ran this game its quite a walk in the park (asides from the rocket launcher not being available in the 2-1 level)
Plenty of people praise the reloading system but the real champ here is the ballistics on a 'boomer shooter'
I feel the maps are more evenly designed and better balanced so far (playing on hardest difficulty but I'm only ~20% into the game): You're not getting instagibbed in 0,2 seconds from taking one step out from the wrong corner anymore (you do however get annihilated 1,7 seconds if milling around without cover). The sequel feels less stressful to handle, as long as you're careful and observe your surroundings.
Though I gotta say my personal playstyle from the first game feels much harder and less viable in the sequel? I played Citadel like a stealth shooter/game: Always leaning out from behind corners to potshot enemies (I got ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ destroyed if I didn't) but I noticed straight away that this isn't really working as well in BC? Shots hit the corner wall while leaning out from it, even if 2/3 of your screen looks out past the side of it and your crosshair's got a clear line of sight to the target.
