I haven’t played far enough to see/find any of those photos. That’s kind of twisted if true. But I know Japanese people are more accepting of minors being portrayed sexually in fictional media, like just in general. I got into shmups recently and have been playing a game called Deathsmiles, look it up. All the playable characters are underage girls between ages 11-17 and they are sexualized somewhat in the game. But supposedly people who are into that imaginary fictional stuff make a big distinction between that and minors in real life and don’t see the two as being related at all. Not saying I agree, I’m just saying there’s a big cultural difference between the west and Japan and they don’t get outraged or offended like we do over fictional media and just see it as as an artist’s creative freedom to include such things in their game/anime/manga/whatever.

It's been said thousands of times before, but I'll say it again - literally the first thing that stands out about the game is the sexual themes, the artstyle and the gore, yet you choose to spend your 20(I believe, correct me if I am wrong) dollars on it, and then go "oh no how could this happen guys? I bought an anime first person shooter but I don't like the artstyle or the violence." like just WHYY? dude save yourself the money buy something you enjoy more

I've followed the dev on twitter and I can tell you his fetish is something else. I don't believe this game is for sick bastards who get off to violence or interior anatomy.

The violence is deliberate. I think most of the things in the game are meant to sell you on how bleak the world is. The protagonist is opposed all the way down, and the situation is desperately serious, but rather uniquely for a first person shooter, victory is never said to be desperately unlikely. In fact faith in the protagonist and her mission seems inevitable. There's a lot to do, and it will get violent and ugly at times, but The Martyr is built better than the forces opposing her. She can die violently, and your view as this happens will be graphic. But then she's back in a new body. The martyr has probably died hundreds of times like the thousands of enemies you tear apart in the game.

Ok, thank you for the easy to understand answer. I personally love this game and think the imagery and art direction is cool. I wish there were more games like this (combining an Anime art style with action-oriented tactical gameplay) because most games that use it tend to be slower JRPGs. Only others I know of is those Touhou fan game FPS titles.
