Game crashes when you exit the shooting range.

Alot of people are reporting cases like this. Me included. Makes it impossible to use the shooting range without having to restart the game. So you permanently miss out on the XP gain from there.

EDIT: Turns out the crash is due to mass inventory shifts. Toss your inventory out on the floor somwhere or collect your stuff back a few peices at the time. Grabbing all at once could lead to a crash.

I have found the cause of the crash. Looks like the game doesnt have a contingency for MASSIVE inventory activity. Like dropping or receiving massive amounts of items, or dismantling or seeling large amounts. Nasty bug, especially if you like shopping in the late game.

What do you mean about the inventory? As in, it can't support the upgraded inventory or do you mean it can't support having loads of items in there?

If you sell or dismantle too many items without leaving your inventory screen it crashes. Guess the game cant handle alot of "Items received" messages at the same time or something.

Not only that, it seems like each stack of items is its own seperate entity when dropped. I wouldn't recommend dropping your stacks of 20+ consumable items in one place; caused a crash every time I've tried it.

Yea same here... they really need to fix this ... makes the 850 exp in that room unobtainable

As a work around, I've found clearing out my inventory helps. Selling all the junk I had and using up my crafting bits making weapon upgrades helped too (I suspect it was because I had two full stacks of crafting materials that did it).

You can also try dropping stuff before you enter the shooting range, but don't drop everything ast once (I think this causes the physics to overload and crash the game) so drop stuff in little piles in different spots.

It's just the inventory, make some room for 2 guns and some ammo, don't pick up too much ammo while you are in there.

No, the game empties your inventory when you enter the shooting range and then gives everything back when you leave. Apparently if you have a lot of items in your inventory (if, for example, you're playing NG+) the game can't handle giving you that many things back at once and crashes.

I'll try stashing most of my stuff in Jensen's apartment and see if that helps at all.

EDIT: This seems to work. After I dropped off all my mines, grenades, and hacking software and sold off whatever booze i was holding onto I was able to exit the shooting range without incident.
