Patch 616.0 - Crash Logs
:steamsad: Well, with patch 616.0 at least now I get about 2 hours in before the game barfs. I think that is a record for me.

Uploaded a ZIP file with my DXDiag info, saved game, and crash logs.

Note: The game does not crash for me while playing normally. However, it can crash at any time when I go to inventory, map, objectives, hacking, or from that back to normal gameplay.

So now I am playing like this:

- Play :-D
- Oh no, I need to see where I am. Oh poop. I have to open the map. Please, please, please do not crash!
- Press M and keep fingers crossed.
- May crash, may not. If no crash: Ok, back to playing. Please, please, please do not crash!
- May crash, may not.

This is the same for pressing Tab to view any mission items I pick up, or hack a terminal.

DX11, not using DX12. No MSI Afterburner. No GeForce Experience.

This time just under an hour.

It crashed after I assigned the praxis I got and pressed the back button to close the interface.

I think I solved my problem! I had another crash but this time a Windows message popped saying it is out of system resources. Before that my screen used to go black after the crash and force me to reboot. I have tried to close everything else but seems that made little difference.

Anyway, I have been putting off getting more RAM but I finally bit the bullet. For a good price got 32GB and I replaced the entire RAM of my PC (all same make and speed).

Since then I have had 3 gaming sessions over 4+ hours each, and not a single crash (DX11). The game is much smoother and the item prompt (press TAB when you pick up a quest item) pops almost immediately.

It seems that the 8GB RAM minimum is not correct at all. I estimate this game needs at least 16GB RAM in order to run for any decent length of time.

I had 16 Gigs and it still crashed on me when I need to get out from the base to the city.

I have 84 gigs and it crashes lol, not a ram issue

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'm now having this issue constantly. I don't think it's a memory issue, my settings certainly aren't that high and I have 16G of ram --- just seems to crash whenever I open computers, map, read the enoteboooks or w/e (well not always it's at least a 25% chance though =[ )

Yeah, I had a crash recently again after my memory upgrade. It is happening a much, much less now though. Like one crash every other day. It may be a memory leak in the engine when switching interfaces. All you can do is post your log, crash dump and DXDiag results to a site like Google Drive or similar and give the link in this forum so that the devs can get hold of it. They have been making fixes to bugs when loading saved games so it could be related. I remember that it seemed to crash easier if I reload a few times. Strange thing is that with the last few crashes it no longer creates a crash dump at all, at least on my PC.
