Breach Mode: PSA

Hello Everyone,

I have a quick PSA regarding Breach Mode, for anyone who cares.

If you would like to get the achievements for this mode, do it sooner, rather than later. Its been 7-8 years (not sure if it was a thing on release) since it was available, and there is no way Square is seeing a return on the server costs for this, so I would expect a shutdown will be coming soon. Once it's shut down, at least some if not all of the achievements will be inaccessible.

On another note, while it is a horrible, loot box riddled slog, it is doable without purchasing anything. It just takes way longer than it needs to. If you do intend to go ahead and try for the achievements, or just want to do it for fun, I have some tips:

1. When you complete the server goal, a timer will appear. If you don't extract before the timer expires, you lose. However, if you fall into a pit, it will respawn you at the level exit . This is super handy on Santeau servers, which have massive pits.

You can do the same thing if you die as well. You can revive for the cost of 10,000 credits, which really isn't that much money (Not sure if you can do this multiple times at the same cost). This can be a quick way out of you're lost, or if the path back is suicidal.

2. Don't bother upgrading any C rank weapons. Wait for a B rank or better weapon to come along. I beat it with mostly B rank weapons, and one A rank one with extremely limited use.

3. Prioritize upgrading energy (all trees: max energy, recharge rate, recharge delay etc.) and your cloak. You can walk through a lot of these servers cloaked if you have enough energy, just grab what you need, and get out. This seems to be the way to go in general.

I wasn’t aware of this, since it seemed like it was connecting to something while i was playing. If this true then the first part of the PSA can be ignored, the tips to beating the levels still stand, for anyone who is interested.
