Deus Ex is currently frozen and there haven't been any news about it at major gaming events.
i emailed SE support to see if any armtwisting can be done, not likely but a definitive answer would be nice
Square-Enix has no control over Eidos, contrary to popular opinion. I've covered this many times on these forums, and I don't feel like doing it again.
you don't have to, but as the publisher they may have some sway if there is profit to be made from it
They don't have a western styled publisher-developer relationship. Eidos itself is also not simply a studio, but an entire tree of its own, with Eidos montreal as one of its many branches. As for profit, there's more profit in an exclusive games deal with Marvel than a 4-8 year development cycle to make a sequel to deus ex.
I wish you guys would spend even a single second on google before you start saying you're gonna send emails to a company that has little to nothing to say about whether or not there will even be a DX5.
well ain't you just a ray of sunshine, i didn't make any demands of them or anything like that.
wasn´t this well recieved someone said ? it´s got a 84% approval on metacritic and overall reviews seems favorable, I mean it´s not a perfect game (no game is) theres alot of stuff I can critique even if I as a whole really enjoyed the game but I can´t see how anyone can think it´s a bad game by any stretch.
I really liked the two new deus exes..esp the aestetics (love the color scheme and art design) and music it´s like a less gritty blade runner.
I ´d take a sequel even if it was just using the same engine and core mechanics from divided and just slapped some new location tilesets and put a new story in there.
Also all the one time micro transaction stuff was a bad idea and probably soured the games rep. No one likes that sort of stuff..and if someone thinks the game is half decent ..bad MT´s are just the thing to push someone into actively disliking a game and giving it bad press..so maybe I just answered my own question why the game had poor reception,IDK , I liked it when I played it on release and I am really liking it now replaying it because I got new hardware and wanted to see it maxed out in 4k.
Hope we get a sequel and not in diablo 2-3 time spans..
My hope is if cyberpunk 2077 is a huge hit we will finally get a new deus ex game as well, because square enix wants to have some of that cake too. And maybe they finally try their hand at remaking the very first game. Though seeing what ever the hell this gothic pt is supposed to be atm has me very worried about that idea...
