For people who only want a graphic lifting with a few gameplay mods, there's "Deus Ex Revision".
I prefer them to focus on a new Deus Ex game after Mankind Divided than wasting ressources on a remake. Not to mention the original game doesn't really need it. If there's one which would really need a whole remake, it's "Invisible War" (as it's the less good of the series).
i agree it would be a lot of work. considering how high graphical we are it would take some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ doing to make it not crash super fast. and considering Square owns it...they would pump the graphics up too much.
but i sitll feel much like Resident Evil, Halo and even that system shock were getting soon) that games that changed the entirity of our histroy should get a remaster. just to treat it with the respect and time it deserve, not plop it out lazily.
Like I said, Deus Ex already got a big graphic upgrade, with the Revision mod available on steam.
The REmaster is a great example because it doesn't replace the original it lives a long side it.
New gamers wouldn't like the old gameplay, which is probably why they would never do it, it wouldn't sell enough. Most people would except a Deus Ex HR gameplay for those who started with this one, and even some hardcore fans might not like such a remake.
The story of Paul is instrumental to the outcome of DE and he is the first successful Nano augmented agent after all.
I'd love to see what the Eidos team could do with that...
I mean Paul can have very similar augments to his brother, but once JC does his thing, Tracer Tong could upgrade Paul, we could see the initial fall out which is supposed to happen pre invisible war etc.
Anyway, just thinking out loud.
Personally I'd allow DE to remain the classic (urban legend it has become).
Keep it as true the original as possible. Although if it was made possible to stick with Unatco... Well that'd be awesome.
The original game released in 2000 will still be there.
