black bars on the two side of the screen.
I'm getting black bars on the left and right side of the screen. and only during cutscenes but not in game. how can I fix this? the bars are there when you boot up the game and during those AMD logo videos as well.

this only happens in exclusive fullscreen mode as well. but I have to use the exclusive fullscreen mode. because if I don't I get screen tearing even though I have v-sync enabled.

I have this also, I also just started getting it on GTAV. I've been scouring the internet for a fix to no avail, I am running a GTX 980 on a 4k display, how about you?

omg. I finally find another one who has the same problem. and yes, only GTA V and Deus Ex has this problem. it's quite annoying. not sure what cause this. maybe it's the 4K screen? I have a 4K sony TV. I have a work around of this issue. in GTA V play it in window borderless and the black bars will be gone. In Deus Ex play it in fullscreen mode but not exclusive fullscreen mode. because in the game fullscreen IS window borderless and exclusive fullscreen is the REAL fullscreen.

I also have this, I have been using boarderles and just accepting the performance impact (turn off exclusive fullscreen) I have no idea what causes it. I also have a 4k televeision that I play on, but I have everything set to 1080P, including windows. I am also running a gtx980

Can confirm. Same here on 4K Samsung. As Hank said 'Exclusive Fullscreen' off will solve. That creates more problems for me though. So I live with it. Pretty much forgot about it at this stage.

what performance impact are you talking about ?

There is a small performance impact on Deus Ex and GTA starts giving you horrendous microstutter and about 5 - 10 fps drop, I played GTAV almost maxed with a steady 60fps on this card before. I'll be trying everything I can, if anyone finds a solution please post it. I'm about to factory reset my television and update the firmware in hopes that it helps. I'm starting to think it lies with the display? I may even email Samsung...

Guys have you checked that your cards drivers are up to date. I have the 980 and I do not have this issue. Also check the performance guide perhaps an ingame setting that both games share could be adjusted.

doubt the factory reset will help. but at least we narrow it down to a problem related to 4k monitors/ TVs. because that's what we have in common.
