Same question here. It auto-linked to an old email address, one which the SE site doesn't even recognize as a valid account, yet the game still gives a succeeded prompt. I don't know where the game found this old email address, but it's not my Steam address, not the one I bought the game with, or the one I linked DE:Go to. And yet I get an email on that address congratulating me on registering the game, when I'd already registered it on the website to my valid SE account (I got a physical copy).

And the interface auto-links every time, no matter how many quick cancel clicks you try, no way to change the address.

I wouldn't say uninstalling a huge game and then reinstalling is a fix...

Yeah you shouldn't need to do that to fix this.

Further, I attempted the uninstalling method and reinstalled and it immediately reconnected to the wrong account which isn't even listed anymore under my accounts.

Aight figured out the real solution. This is for Epic Games, but its the same for any other connection. You'll need to go into your account connections on the unrealengine/epicgames website and disconnect it there. This should be on the account you don't want connected obviously. Then go back to the square-enix account connections page, disconect the old one, connect a new one, make sure it is the right one for sure and then your good.

none of this worked. still automatically fills in the old inactivated square enix account. where can i unlink things ON STEAM? i have uninstalled, deleted my old SE account that is faulty, created a new one, linked steam to the new one on the SE website, then downloaded the game but still auto-filled in the old one. i'm beyond frustrated. THIS SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD!!
