Same issue. I created a second account just because I thought that might have been the problem.
Nope.

Do it before it is too late.

Are you making a suggestion - that we ask for a refund? Or are you trying to ask for a refund?

If it is the latter - this is not the place to do that. This page might help you - https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=6695-QIKM-7966

if it is the former - I don't think something as simple as not being able to log into our optional S-E account is worth giving up the rest of the game. I know some people are having serious issues with the game, and other people are upset about the single-use DLC (or "microtransactions") - and those people might want to get a refund...

.. but I don't think this particular (S-E account login) issue will cause many people to trade the game back in. For me, at least, the game is still 100% playable. This log in thing is annoying, but hardly game-breaking.

FWIW YMMV IANAL TTYL DFTBA :flowey:

I did create a support ticket with S-E and got nothing for days, when I finally got a response it was a broilerplate form letter about how to reset the password on my account....

S-E support is useless.

Has anyone got a fix for this?

I just keep trying every time I play. Still not working. I'd like the get the praxis points from playing Deus Ex Go...

the best I can tell, you can't actually register from in-game. you HAVE to go to the DXMD website and create an S-E account. After they send you the usual activation email, you can go into the game and type your email in. (it took 3 attempts for it to detect mine as valid.) Then you'll need to confirm your email AGAIN when S-E links to steam. Then you log in to the game a 2nd time and click connect. Then it works. Not sure if it was worth it!

I have the same issue. Hopefully it will be fixed in a patch.

Are you sure about the capitalization? I also got the invalid email address when I wrote my email with first latter being capital letter. Worked fine when I tried with all small letters :)

I found something that worked for me - On the S-E website - you can go to your account information then go to Linked accounts. I linked my Steam account, and then entered my email in the game, and it worked. FINALLY. I wish it would say something about that in the game itself - letting me know I had to do that.

Confirmed, you need to link your steam account to your square enix membership.

1. Go here: https://membership.square-enix.com/users/sign_in
2. Click the steam icon.
3. Login to steam account.
4. Enter your square enix account email.
5. Once it tells you it's already associated with an account, login via the email and password fields.
6. It will ask if you want to link your square enix and steam accounts.. Click yes.
7. Go into the game and go link it. Should auto login once you click the account button.

Confirmed, thanks for the help.

Now if only I could figure out why it doesn't sync up with Deus Ex Go...
