It still runs like crap even with MSAA off.

I've tried turning everything off and even on low it runs way worse than all my other games regardless of SLI being on or off, and this is on a pair of Titan X cards (not the 2016 versions).

True thing Big Boss! I have just done it and it improves like hell! :)

Why do some games run terrible with MSAA, and others not? It almost seems like this game just upscales resolution

have a rtx 2080, runs amazing at 1080 x 2560 with 2x msaa.. If you use msaa with a nvidia card, suggest you turn on mfaa in nvidia panel.

+1 turn off msaa

rtx 2080, on 1080p 4x msaa, max settings, runs constant 60, always had.

Yes, the best card in the world of two years ago runs a five year old game fine. :cryptothink:

Just pointing out a better card isnt a solution. Didnt have a problem on 970 or 1070 back then either.

Oh. Now that you mention it, wouldn't 144 FPS be closer to an ideal frame rate for a five-six year old game?

MSAA is also well known to be a buggy anti-aliasing method. It actually killed my Watch_Dogs 2 performance.

In general, but its also subjective from game to game. This game has a higher props and object density and quality than a regular game, which makes it very demanding.

A room in this game has more objects than an entire fov in an open world game like rdr2.

This game has amazing visuals, they made a wonderful work with beautiful Prague. Nothing to complain about regarding graphics. Also 144 FPS is overkill; switching MSAA off solves the issue, it's most probably a bug or a poorly optimized feature.

MSAA isn't 'buggy.' Go look up what it actually does, then maybe you'll understand why it kills performance.

I'll look it up. I know all kind of Anti Aliasing is quite demanding. I'm not stating it's the developer's fault at all; I didn't express myself correctly.

I normally don't really care about FPS as long as it's playable. My first PC (not counting my C64) had 4mb RAM and 80mb HDD so I know the feeling :D
