Deus Ex: Mankind Divided™
Using augs is surprisingly lame in this game.
As much as I want to use my augs, the game wont let me, unless I have the biocells, which I don't because I keep using them so I can actually use all these experimental augs but no, wanna use the titan? Can't. Wanna use icarus dash to dash between covers? Can't. Wanna glass cloak past the guards? Can't. UNLESS, you have the biocells to do so. There are no augs that will increase the maximum recharge level, so why introducing all these new augs but no means to use them effectively!?

Playing on Give me Deus Ex, mostly silent approach, some mix of lethal/nonlethal. At one point while managing my inventory, i realized I had packratted away about 35 biocells. They can be bought in a 5 pack for relatively cheap from one of the Prague vendors, they're found all over the world, and they're cheap to craft. Not to mention, the game is fully playable only relying on your small rechargable energy meter. That's how i played Human Revolution and that's mostly how i played Mankind Divided so far.

I save my biocells for moments where the small rechargeable portion won't cut it. Need to go invis, punch 3 guys in the face and then jump into a gas trap? Biocells!
The part about that is pressing B during the action, clicking Biocell, watch your bar suddenly pop to full, exit out and continue until your energy's low again for the entire section of action... It makes me feel bad.

you can assign them to number keys on your number bar, i typically keep mine on number 6 that i then activate through having it mapped to the forward button on my mouse for the game .... you cna do the same with the pills and the stim injectors as well so you dont have to stop fighting to heal /powerup once people see you :P

as to the rest, the biocells should give you from virtually empty to full power bar and your augs shouldnt drain as much as they do imho, i have all power upgrades.

Maah, I just want a less consumable-reliant playstyle in order to support more ability hotkeys and combinations, but that's me and not playing triple A style games whatsoever...
its more about conveniance and psychology than it is about actual balance. Even without using biocells the game is super easy.
I will agree that i would vastly prefer an aug that made the rechargeable portion of the energy bar larger as opposed to relying on consumables to fill the bar. It's not gamebreaking or even annoying. Just if i had my say, I'd choose the larger energy bar.

I have a bad habit of stocking up on consumables in games like this and never really using them, so the game expecting me to use consumables frequently is a little bit outside my usual playstyle.

Would it be justified to call it artificial difficulty, reliance on consumables to keep the most amount of power?

There are augs that decrease your battery consumption.Just look better.
Plus ,the ideea is to explore and discover all sort of stuff . Even crafting materials.Learn some hacking instead of using so many multi-tools and craft bio-cells. It's that simple.

Plus ,you can also buy bio-cells .Then again, you need to explore and actually find items and then sell them to get some cash.
Or ,you can always buy praxis kits with real money if you're that lazy.
I'm not going to spend like 4 praxis kits to unlock lvl 5 hacking to get more lore or enter saves as well as doing the puzzles. I'm not here to explore AREAS, but to explore THE WORLD inside, personally. I'll probably bother to find that vendor for biocells, but I have a serious aversion to using consumables in a game. I don't like managing the resources to keep myself in viable condition, i'd rather my batteries working at full force instead of decay unless I manage it with consumables every once in a while.

I also have very sporadic use for energy, mostly just tapping smart vision on and off, so while the 4~ seconds with 0 battery left is alright, I basically can't chain any augments with it, so i'm just going vanilla stealth.

the fact that you think 4 praxis points is something considerable to spent tells me much about how you play the game

for sure as hell you ran out of energy lol

I wouldn't say that, although i do think many aspects of the game would need rebalanced a bit if you had a larger, more frequently filled energy meter.

Many games expect you to use the consumables you find. It's just a design decision. I'm just kind of strange in that I generally manage to get through games without using them. I always save them waiting for that moment where i really need them and then finish the game without ever really hitting that moment.

I have 30 something grenades in my inventory and i've thrown 1 i think. I have something like 40 hypostims, and around 35 biocells, with about 12 hacking tools. I just hoard this stuff for no good reason apparently.

The system is actually pretty similar to Human Revolution except instead of bubbles, you've got one single line split into rechargeable/non-rechargeable.

If you're patient, the small recharge portion of the energy bar is sufficient for most encounters in the game i've found, much like Human Revolution.

My instincts are 32% Dragon. GOTTA HOARD EM ALL!

I want my battery size upgrades to actually increase the battery size forever, not like a semi-consumable for the price of a Praxis kit.

I was max in hacking very early on, and I'm still complaining. Using crafting parts for bio cells is quite expensive, I'd rather upgrade my weapons with that amount. I'm aware of the less battery consumption augs, but they don't increase my battery bar. Even with all energy consumption augs for titan, it still only lasts for like 2-3 seconds without biocells.

What?! this game is so easy on give me deus ex. I have like infinite biocells and with the dismantle aug I craft them at 84 parts a piece and dismantle guns I pick up at 30-50 parts a piece. I can cloak walk my way through this entire game and this guy has this complaint. lol

I have too many parts, praxis, credits, biocells, etc... but not enough energy auto recharge. Nothing will fix that.
I use my augs constantly. I'm not really sure where your complaint is coming from. I've never run out of biocells either. Guess I'm just more efficient than you are - stop wasting time when your augs are active.

If you've used a biocell you are less efficient than I am.

If anything there are too many biocells making the game too easy and I played on Give Me Deus Ex. Also the game is short so take your time, I beat it last night after 25 hours and was really expecting to visit one more location or have one more mission before it just kinda ends.
the ending of the game is so lackluster dissapointing trash ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ XD

you get all the way up to that point, and yeah i felt the way you did, and then it just ends and you're like.............
..........
.........
.......
ok i guess.
