Stuck on loading screen

I am having this issue where when I start the game up then try to load my save file it just loads infinitely. I've done the integrety check, I've swapped from fullscreen to windowed to exclusive fullscreen and nothing is working. Any one else experiencing this issue and does anyone have a fix?

well - so first of all, this is no technical solution.

it might work with 4 it might not work with 3 or 2 .

it's just a bunch on nonsense.

look, do you not know how to set your processor's affinity which is what this thread is really mainly about, or have you tried it and looking for some other solution? because if its the latter, youre best off making a new thread.

there are cpus these days with 16, 32 or more even more cores.

I have a fairly ballsy Mac and just experienced this problem right after landing in London. No problems prior to this. I only have one core. Several here talked about video card issues, so I just restarted with medium graphic settings and so far, I'm running again.

setting compatibility-mode to win7 (right-click on exe …) seems to work to a certain degree.

also you can use the task-manager to set compatibility.

To clarify, back in 2016 the (usual) maximum amount of physical cores on CPUs was 8 + 8 virtual if you include hyper-threading. I am running a 16 physical core CPU with 16 additional virtual cores if you include hyper-threading. Was running into this load screen issue and, after bumping down the total core usage to 16 (counting starts at 0, remember that) through task manager's affinity setting for the process, I was able to get it to run consistently every time.

Wouldn't say the game is coded badly, just there was no way of someone knowing there was going to be a processor like mine back in < 2016...

a patch would help maybe. i removed it so problem solved.

as mentioned before,
'Human Revolution' is not affected by this and 'Mankind Devided' is not that old.

so there must be something else - i removed it because it did not work.
end of the story; good luck fixing games.

it had other issues as well … that's why i've had it.

i had a problem where my game would crash when entering breach. disabling dlc seemed to fix my prpblem idk if itll help your issue. i. honestly to lazy to read everything

on 2700x, the loading savegame screen loop / loading progress bar stuck, was happening intermittantly until a certain point, then almost every load savegame attempt. used the processor affinity setting to reduce cores to 8 and it seems better. shouldnt have to do this, its piss poor programming. saying processors had less cores when the game released is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
other than that, i like the game.

TLDR:
- start taskmanager
- select deus ex process -> right click -> go to details
- set affinity and use half of your processors e.g. only first 8 if you have 16

yes i tried that for a while but still there are issues, this is more like a hack, no solution.

i faced the loading issue multiple times what fixed it for me
>run the game exe as admin and compatibility for windows 7
>from task manager right click/details set affinity the select only 8 or less CPU cores/threads

my CPU was 5900x 12Core , 24Thread so i only selected from CPU0 to 7 restarted the game and it worked

i played the dx11 version on Linux / Proton and had no issues so far.

dx12 will crash on Linux too. The game has a native version but Proton is faster with AMD Radeon because of Vulkan i guess.
