Awful low-quality Cutscenes? Bug or normal?
At first i thought maybe it was just the intro about the old game - but also any cutscene from the new game looks awful.

It seems as if its rendered in a low resolution with bad settings combined with awful compression-artefacts?

Do i miss some video-codec or did they really put in pre-rendered cutscenes that look like they were produced in the 90s? Maybe its some sort of cheap trick to make the game look better?

For me it was tessellation that does some weird stuff to characters faces during conversations. Up to the point that you could sometimes see bright things in the back ghost through them.
Try disabling it and see if that gets rid of the 'compression-artifacts'.

I dont mean the speaking i mean the parts when a video plays like the flashback in the beginning etc.

Yea, well it seems to me like every newer game with prerendered cutscene does this, so its either because of our resolution or developers just don't feel like having a super high quality prerendered video for us...

thats how the pre rendered vids are compressed. if they werent you could enjoy 50gb of cutscenes. and nobody would want that. tho i dont get why they didnt display them in ingame graphics

I would prefer 50 gb of cutscenes or at least an option to with free DLC etc.
I know there are some areas with bad internet-conection or awful contracts but there are also lots of areas with great and cheap internet.

Also there is compression that gives you high quality with rather low data - just look at streaming services like Nentflix they have way superior video-quality with probably rather low size.

well if you play this game on an ssd it would just use half of your storage which would be ridiculous. its just dum that there was no reason to even have pre rendered cutscenes, except for during loading times

So what? Then dont play it on your SSD? Or as i said give players an option with a free "High Quality Cutscene DLC".

To be honest i dont care about SSD for gaming at all - yes it loads faster but who cares. My steam library is too big for an SSD anyhow and i have no intention of switching games between SSD and HDD depending on what i play ...

Btw. i bought 1 SSD for windows - tried it - was underwhelmed its not like im starting and restarting my PC every 5 minutes ...

last but not least there is a middle-ground between this awful quality compressed video and 4K video compression ...

That's pretty normal unless you want the game to be 80+ gigabytes.

If your stand is "cash shop, no game" then fair enough. Don't buy it.

You do know that SSD helps with other things besides restarting your PC right? You are among the very very few I have heard that switched to SSD and found it underwhelming. What I used to do when I only had 1 SSD drive is that I installed the game I played the most on the SSD.

But I do agree that some prerendered cutscenes looked so bad it was almost funny

Yes it was an improvement but not that great to be honest - maybe its because i always had a top-notch pc therefore everything was always pretty fast.

Also isnt SSD outdated already and beaten by Ram-Drives?
