How to get to Koller
Not liking the game so far. I'm bad at FPS. After 30 reloads trying to disable the hellicoper, this game is more about reloading than replaying. I tend to like games you can complete in iron mode. Oh well as long as there are no boss fights later as those truly ruin a game.
The bomb went off at the train station and I woke up and can no longer level up. I tried to go see Koller but there is a guy in the way. I've looked for another way in but I can't find one. How, do you get to Koller.

go to the left of the door where the guy told you to go away and walk up to the laser fence, or go up abouve that point and look around.

Obviously if your asking then this is the wrong game for you lol... dues ex is about finding your own way (There's 100 ways to get to him) one of which is as simple as just shooting him or hitting him? Cmon man figure it out xD and don't play if you don't like it js.
Look around, the whole point is to explore and find all the ways to enter. If you really need help there should be a way to get to the roof on the left side of the building.

It's not a FPS, sure you can go gun blazing but it's always better to play stealth. There's non-lethal and then there's completely ghostlike.

There's a police checkpoint to the left, you can try and get through it, sneak by the right wall or use the vent in the apartment above the checkpoint. The environment holds a lot of possibilities just waiting for you to find them, keep an eye out for vents, crates blocking possible paths and other kinds of alternative routes.

ok thanks -- the police thing and the video really helps. I talked to the police but he sent me on another quest and I was thinking I really needed my augments before I did that. I'm fearfull I'm going to spend more time reloading and watching how to videos then playing the game.

Upgrade the cloack system as soon as you can.

For the helicopter, as you had the cloack system during this mission, you just had to enable it, ignore the enemies and go directly to the helicopter to remove the battery.

For the rest, when you have to pass somewhere and the path is blocked by a NPC or another thing, there's often an alternative road, like an airvent/window for a nearby building/sewers or a possibility to use boxes to reach roofs (though Adam seems to jump higher than in HR, so using boxes is not as useful as it was in HR).

And if you still struggle with some parts of the game, you might also upgrade quickly the action equivalent of the cloack, forgot the name, but it's the black armor which looks like polygons (from what I read, it prevent all damages while it's active).

And if sometimes a NPC give you problem and if there aren't anybody near it, just take him down (either lethal or no-lethal) then quickly hide his body somewhere.

I also reload the game from times to times but it's rather because I play stealthy and so if an alarm is raised, I don't feel like killing everyone (even if I could) so I just reload the game, like in any Deus Ex I play.

Thank you!

And you might also play in easy mode, if it's not already the case, it might help.

I had never played the first Deus Ex and as I often play with a controller (HR and MD, both playing it with a controller), I had to get used with keyboard/mouse so I'm actually playing it in easy mode for my first playthrough of the original Deus Ex and it helped to get used to it.

You can also get by with the help of a female cop which involves a rather forcefull resolution.

I switched to easy mode at the helicopter after the 20+th reload (not exaggerating). After I switched to easy mode it still took about 10 tries. The sandstorm made it to where they could see me but I couldn't see them. I also thought I had to kill them all. I didn't know that pulling a connection to the helicopters battery would kill all the bad guys. I was also trying to keep them alive so they could be interrogated. I guess that wasn't an option.

That's a more efficient way to do it. I'll try that on my next playthrough.

I thought you had to kill them all too. So I picked off the guys on the outside. Then ran into the middle and used typhoon to slaughter the rest! :D

I see, it might be your first Deus Ex then. Because personally, I was pretty sure it wasn't required to defeat them prior the battery removal (like for Farida for those who played HR. You can kill/takedown the guys in this mission if you want and save her, but you can also cloack and leave, though she'll die because of that but won't prevent you to continue the game).

When you have to kill/take down people, it's always written in the mission description.

The fact that you are playing it as a FPS is the first mistake, considering you admit you are bad at it.

If the sandstorm kicks in during the fight (which is avoidable) then you have pretty good cover.
Sneak in, take out the chopper's battery.
Whether you want to save Singh is entirely upto you.
