Spoilers. Tesla aug is bugged.
Bought it for taking out the 4 police that guard that guy's brother in golem city and found it a handy replacement for reflex booster. But I've been noticing that my ghost bonuses are being voided since the enemies go hostile upon takedown (unless its a lone enemy in which case the multishot upgrade for the tesla is pointless if you're trying to go stealthy)

You sure it's bugg and not a feature?

btw I've noticed they don't go hostile if no other living creature is in their line of sight while they're being "barbecued". ;)

Tesla is a non-lethal weapons, which are not always stealthy

Sorry, why do you "need" ghost bonuses? What's wrong with enemies going hostile immediately prior them going down from a non-lethal ranged attack?

They put them in the game to 'reward' certain play styles. After investing so many resources into the tesla aug, it makes sense that they don't alert enemies - the same way much cheaper more basic weapons don't.

I want a Friendly Ghost bonus, which you would get for making sure their unconscious bodies are placed in comfortable positions.

Ok, I get that your're doing a pacifist run, I normally do that myself for the Dues Ex games, but what I'm saying is that "ghost" only adds 250 xp, and it not getting it does not interfere with either Foxiest or Pacifist achievements.

For example, let's say you have 4 enemies in front of you at range of 60m. You can, 1) Use Tesla Fist and take them all out at once, use 2) Trag Rifile to take them out individually or 3 ) Sneak up to them and either use Stun Pistol or Jensen's Fist to knock them out.

Option 1 (Tesla Fist) is the obviously fastest.

Option 2 (Tranq Rifle) is the secend fastest; however, the likely hood that any of the other 3 enemies in the area will not see the knocked out person from your 1st shot is low. If they do see him/her stumbling around and falling to the ground, they will go into alert / panic mode, look for the nearest alarm and so on... this blows Ghost.

Option 3 takes an inordinate amount of time to execute properly. To take out the same 4 enemies at close range, picking one up and dragging him out of view of the other 3 and watching patrols and whatnot, you're looking at least 1hr of gameplay to do it properly.

In conclusion, you can 1) Tesla Fist and move on in like 5 seconds, or ... cloak and dagger for and hour for a 250xp Ghost bonus.

From my perspective, this is balanced for expediency and I don't think a 250xp Ghost bonus is worth an hour of time, do you?

I am not sure shall it be a bug or not ... I thought the reason for this is because the stun isn't instant.

It isn't a bug, because the KO is not happening instantly. But it is the best way to take down several persons at once without killing them. The other two options would be gas grenades and the non-lethal typhoon, which uses gas too, which does not work well on the late-game enemies with their protective gear.

It is possible to remain unseen, when you tesla four opponents, but only if you are not standing in the line of sight of one when you fire. An example would be the four dvali poker players in the theater basement, when you can aim out of sight. But it is often very tricky to catch several enemies at once without being spotted. I guess using the glass shield while aiming would help, but running on the permanent charge makes that impossible (I almost always do).

To use the Tesla in ghost playthroghs, you have to make sure no enemies are nearby. It makes a lot of noise which alerts anyone nearby, but otherwise you're fine.

well i wouldn't call it a bug basic issue is same issue that the stun gun has as well, you just don't notice it as much with it since your usually taking one one guy with that. So what happens is this, hit a target with it and he actually lets out a yell as he's fried. WHICH will alert nearby units of your presence if they are to close. so you have to really judge when enemies are to close. A good place to see this in action is the Dhvali theater where you really can only either sneak past or use tranq darts. Any of your stun weapons will alert the whole place to your presence.

Still an amazing weapon, and probably my favorite of the new offensive weapons.

My impression is that the Tesla makes a lot of noise, so if there are other soldiers within earshot it will alert them. However I have taken out four guys with it without the whole world going hostile.

They go hostile because even though you've targeted 4 enemies, they're not equi-distant from one another. So they see someone get shocked, go hostile, then get shocked themselves. There's no buffer like when an enemy gets suspicious first before they go hostile, like when they see a guy get tranqed or only see you from the corner of your eye.
