Glass shield vs Lasers
So having failed to get Foxiest of the Hounds on my second attempt for that achievement, it occurs to me that maybe passing through lasers, even while glass shielded, trips a silent alarm.

It doesn't. More than likely you did one of the handfull of actions that automatically set off an alarm.

Invest in remote hacking ASAP, then turn off all car alarms. Do not drop cops near cars, or the bodies hitting a car will set off car alarms. You can also turn off lasers with remote hacking, and other fun stuff. Wish I'd gotten it a lot earlier.

Trude, the thing I don't get is that I didn't engage hardly anyone, and hid those few bodies very well. Never noticed an alarm go off, fail a hack, and I did of the "stealth choices" e.g. contact Vega at GARM

Well it's not a problem with glass shield because I used it extensively and got the achievement. A good failsafe beyond saving regularly is to watch for the alarm tutorial message. If it pops up, you've tripped your first alarm so you should never see it.
