edit: I think that´s just perfect Squeenix plan to squeeze more money from us, players :)
Games like Halo 5 do deserve backlash for story length and lack of proper closure, this game, however, does not, considering it is pretty much as long as HR (if not 3 hours longer if my first playthrough of both are measurable) and the central conflict is indeed ended and closed. And no, everything else regarding Janus and the Illuminati's next step is adyacent to the plot of stopping Viktor and saving Rabiah.
His purpose in the story is to field test the orchid and to help Jensen gain trust w/ Juggernaut Collective due he is a sleeper agent of the Illuminati w/ out knowing it.
They were in uproar because you were always forced into a shootout. Meaning if you put your points into stealth augs and hacking you were pretty much screwed against Barret.
The psuedo-remake fixed this by adding alternate ways to deal with the bosses (turrets you could hack against Barret, for example).
It was worse, Vanilla HR is far better. Anyway, I would just pick up 5 of those prox mines and they would take care of him. In real life, you sometimes don't get a conveniant vent to run too.
Games like Halo 5 are played for the multiplayer not the 6-7 hour campaign.90% of the Halo fanbase doesn't give a ♥♥♥♥ about the story, they are as mindless as the COD fanbase.
So please, don't mash Deus ex with the Halo franchise, they are in a different category. The game was short,Prague was a dead city with 10 short side-quests that brought nothing interesting to the main story.
I spent more time travelling and unlocking doors than enjoying the actual content that matters, like the story or side quests.
In real life you don't willingly walk into a group of 3 people, one of whom threw you through a wall of glass and then shot you in the face.
The original Deus Ex had alternate ways of dealing with bosses, and in some cases could be skipped outright if you played stealthily enough. That included the very last boss, depending on which route you decided to take.
