Thanks! Going to attempt this madness
At this point, if i run into a mine or die to Marchenko i'll throw my PC out the window. I'm doing it for the achievement but it is kind of fun being 100% cautious.
That is why for this run I made sure to use the lethal kill switch on Marchenko. lol
Forget side missions and focus on the main plot. Make sure to have as many biocells as you can as well as crafting parts in case you run out of them.
The fight with Marchenko is not too difficult as well. You can use the kill switch but if you are going to fight him, using the stun gun and taking him down afterwards is relatively easy.
Take a look at the achievement stats. 0,5% of all the people who plays this game. It's not as easy at all. Not that it is insanelly difficult or that it needs controlling skills... but it is really nerve wrecking and time consuming for the trial and error alone. And i did died from some insane BS like guards with shotguns alerting out of nowhere, NPC's traps, mines and what else.
I'm in London now thankfully. I haven't killed anyone and cloaked through the whole campaign. I'm in insane doubt about risking taking out Fatchenko for the Pacifist achievement as well, or just make sure to use the kill switch and end this madness already xD
You need to be careful and plan ahead, instantly reloading when you are detected. If you did foxiest, this one is very like foxiest with the extra that you really don't want people shooting at you so that's why you don't want alerts of any kind. Also, don't forget not to fall down and not to go into gas without the rebreather.
light spoilers ahead:
Skip the Cult of personality side quest as the cannons are instakills at that point. Skip the activation part of the paper in the migration office. If you are detected, the cops are swarming around and they have shotguns. The rest of the sidequests can be important, you need the points for your augmentations. Some of the sidequests only involve speaking with people (if done right), so there is no reason on skipping them. You can save the guests at the party too, I managed this.
Combining this with Pacifist is a bad idea. Firstly, you cannot kill Louis @ Utulek which will prohibit Otar from gaining control, which will result in that you need to get into the theater with a lot of hostile gang members. That sidequest is rather difficult, but getting the thug out in the locker requres the same approach what you will do in the rest of the playthrough, so it won't be a problem. Also, you cannot kill switch Marchenko. With this run, you want to use the kill switch on him. The sniper rifle is your ally in GARM, so making sure everyone is dead and no one can see you is a valid approach on that level. Or, you can just skip the whole by climbing around the top and using the drill. Note: I let Louis take a hitch on my run, so I needed to get through the theater anyway. It requires some biocells, but otherwise it is quite straightforward. GARM is doable under 10m, you just need to jump around the top of the hangars and get out as quickly as possible. I wouldn't engage Marchenko on this run. He is at the end of the whole and he is at least so dangerous as the Bull was in Human Revolution.
Also, take the bank heist. The Machinegod believers put mines around the building and is swarming with augmented enemies, while the bank is actually pretty badly defended if you are confortable with moving around in the air ducts.
I had so much fun and salt, ups and downs in this run that i'm beginning to think that... (raise your forks guys!)... this game can surpass HR. Seriously EVERYTHING was different in this run compared to my first one, and i realised i can make it even more different next time.
But for now i really need a break :)
Good job! Did you got pacifist in the end?
Doing an "assault" walkthrough is very different from the foxiest / pacifist / neveraskedforthis runs. It is less rewarding compared to the original Deus Ex / HR (or even Dishonored) as there are far less action packed levels, but it can still be fun. Like instead of hitting the load button in Praga under curfew when you are detected, you can hoard some LAMs and then take out the rest with Otar's revolver. Preferably in Game+ mode with full augmentation upgrades:).
So in a nutshell, this game is fun for me....
Oh yeah Icarus is a must for this run to avoid any accident. I learned it the hard way just when i got out of Koller's lab xD
No i used the killswitch. But i think if i reload my save and takedown Chenko i'll get it
